It's not like weird stuff happens in every game so it's irrelevant to comment them. It's all about making a small fly look like a huge problem.
Okay, good to know. But at the same time I read countless complaints about the issue with the midfield play -- that there isn't much midfield play, and that the CPU instead drops 8 players back on defence.

It's not about players running too fast, that's fine. The issue is the CPU doesn't take any time moving the ball up the pitch. It's just hyper-fast back and forth, up and down action. There's no slowing the gameplay down whatsoever, no standing still, nothing. Not in that first vid anyway.

The cpu could hold onto the ball a bit longer, its fairly representative of an end to end english game, with no pausing for breath, but it could do with a few cpu tweaks. Knocking the speed down to -2 doesn't make the players hold onto the ball for longer however, it just makes everyone slower.
You can't have too much standing about as the game is only a fraction of the time of a real life game. It would be difficult to mirror the amount of shots on goal as in real life if the game speeds dropped too much.
The human players still have the option to slow the pace down however, if not closed down too much.

It's not about standing around, it's about moving and buiding play at varied speeds. I just watched the first vid again, and it's constant, non-stop running at full speed. That's the issue I'm talking about.

You're right, there could be more midfield play. I think the Human player could in fact issue more calm midfield play (I know I normally do ) but AI simply plays as it plays.
A bit of a mixed bag the vid, to me it seemed like AI opponent played nice stuff near your box, good passes etc. but otherwise they were really going on fast counters all the time. Good thing that many good long balls were played though!
Jenkey was on here?
Your team AI was in fact though playing quite good tbh.

PES2011 was also though very much about fast counters & killer passes and the game rolling from side to side.. this is naturally due so players / AI in fact have time to score goals in 5min matches.. which is a bit lame, but seems like it a bit!

The loss of player weight is imminent though from pes2010->2012, gradually reduced. Doesn't RUIN the game, but would've preferred more weight myself..

Looking forward for your next vid! was that going to be without Jenkey? (Maybe we can see some differences)

That first vid wasn't Jenkey mate, just the Fire Patch stuff. It's where even I'm confused a bit as I thought the Fire Patch stuff was just the kits etc, but there are changes to the pes executable file from Fire Patch so I don't know whether it's fire Patch gameplay alterations. It must be as the camera has been changed to a fifa style camera and the gameplay definitely isn't patch 1.02 on it's own!?

Jenkey's patch is a must have if you have PC version. It improves game play 100% and makes it feel more like real game. Too bad though you can't play it online. Would be great if KOnami took a look at it and copy for next patch! But knowing konami that will not happen tilll pes 2018!!

Okay guys, here's my other game I played earlier. Again, I'm not picking the games, these are just random games where anything can happen, I'm not trying to MAKE anything happen, the game just does!

This is using Jenkey's tool to decrease game speed slightly, but not his gameplay element or not remove AI cheating, the game loads up with the fire patch stuff so I'm presuming that it's the Fire Patch PES2012.exe which is the gameplay.

The game has everything I talked about needed to be a sim; fast play, slow play, variations in shots and moves, an aerial battle, ebb and flow. Fouls and bookings, drama the lot.

I had just come off a Chelsea tumping, 5-1, where Drogba was unstoppable, so this was a big game!

http://youtu.be/74PNDARdbcM

I'm not going into as much detail as before because it would be just too long, needless to say there is everything I talked about previously here, brilliant defensive backing off and pressing, active AI, possession play, counters, good goalkeeping, variation in goals. Basically, the lot that a real game contains. I just can't get this sort of variation in the game with FIFA. There's nothing glitchy here, the game just pans out. I just roll with it.

Nice one, Arsenal AI first goal was pretty decent tbh! Maxi header, typical Arsenal defending :p
If you happen to make a vid of a game with Jenkey on add it as well :)

Btw, Firepatch could support Jenkey as well, if you just add them to the same folder as firepatch.. (I haven't tried) Most likely they will implement possibility to use Jenkey with FP later, it was in PES11 Firepatch.

I've firepatch installed to it's own folder instead of PES folder, even that it asks to be installed to the PES folder it's not a must.
Only thing Must is that you have PES12 installed somewhere..
Makes it a bit easier to control different patch/mod Pes's.. just as a hint :)
Too bad FP seems to use the same Option File save folder as plain pes though, so you might have to do a little tricks, if you want to have different patches (Pesedit, FP for instance).

Can we get that OF for ps3? Looks amazing !!!

It's pretty cool isn't it, but I don't think there is anything like it for the PS3 at the moment mate, this is why I'm locked in my bedroom hooked on this PC version, whilst the worse half is using MY 50" plasma to watch endless episodes of True Blood....lol, her loss I suppose!

Okay guys, I've written extensively over the last couple of days about the joys of this version -

PES2012, 1.02, Fire Patch Vietnam, Jenkey's Patch to use the Stadiums (but nothing else, so I believe the gameplay is whatever changes to the PES2012.exe that Fire Patch has done). I run Jenkey's executable, but that only points to the PES2012.exe I believe, with Jenkey's gameplay unchecked etc I think I'm using whatever Fire Patch did to the exe (if anything), CONFUSED....Yeah I am to. But whatever, it runs like a dream

I'm probably going to post 1 more video for you all that will be my last effort at depicting what I believe to be a football sim to be.

When I post this effort, I will write small segments as to what were in all the games I posted , commenting on the pros and cons, why I think this combination of settings is amazing, and just general opinion.

IDK, all that second vid did was convince me how even Jenkey's patch can't save the game this year. It's just the same running end to end at top speed for 90 minutes, only in slow motion. That's not football, that's hockey, or maybe Sonic Soccer. I honestly can't believe how awful and ridiculous the game looks. But more than that, I can't believe how Konamoi CANNOT simply fix the little things instead of trying to reinvent the entire game every year, and in the process screw it up even further.

I did mention changing the stamina system to reduce how often players sprint in my previous post.

There are issues with adding realism to a 10minute game of football. There are limitations in making the game truly representative. Something has to give, other wise it will end up being a 10 minute snippet of a real game of football, with 1/9 as many goals, chances etc. It simply wouldn't work.

I do see what you are saying, and I do think that you can sprint too often without too much consequence, which could be tweaked. But it needs to be more end to end and quicker than a real game. OR 90minutes per game.

I missed that in your last post, good to know. I play 20 minute halfs and tweak the game accordingly, so slowing the game down to a realistic level works for me.

They should make the game play differently depending on the length of time the game is played. I imagine you end up just getting twice as many goals on a 20min game.

Hawkeye, I honestly got PES 2011 playing in a way that gave me realistic shots, goals and stats with 20 minute halfs. That's one of the things I really appreciate about FIFA 12 this year: by simply tweaking CPU tactics, it's possible to accomplish the same thing. The CPU will slowly build up play, pass and dribble back when pressured, etc. There's a slower and realistic pace to the game this year that allows one to play longer halfs and still see correct stats.

I think these devs already fiddle too much with the basics as it is, so setting up the game to play differently, depending on how long the halfs are, would be ill-advised IMO. The PES series is the perfect example of a development team trying to do too much and not being able to pull it off. They should be focused on one thing and one thing only: to create a game that simulates the way a real game is played, including pace.

Pes 2011 shots were a joke

Perfect example of what I'm talking about actually. Shooting in PES 2011 could be easily tweaked and improved, simple as globally raising Shot Technique ratings. But of course Konami decides to remove that rating from the game this year, and now there's a shooting issue with PES 2012, imagine that.

In other words, they take something that was poorly programmed last year, and instead of simply fixing it by adjusting ratings, they remove one of the only methods we had to fix the issue. Typical Konami, everything is ass backwards with them. Not sure the people who develop the game actually ever play it, it sure seems that way to me sometimes.

I don't mean to take off your other points, but just a note, the 2nd vid was NOT Jenkey patch neither. Neither of techboys vids were with Jenkey.

In pes 2011, a guy like shimizu can belt the ball from the center circle and be on target and have 99 power. It was just too easy and unrealistic.
Patch 1.02 fixed it as it is floaty and powerful together like real life
