PES 2014 Scoring outside the box (long range shot)?

Gk seems superior outside the box. but when inside the penalty area.....gk seems very stupid. Dont try from outside the box. Try inside and with hard angle.

Ice no problem scoring inside the box. The whole point of this thread is to see if others are experiencing the same problem, which I'm 100% sure they are.

There's no point in shooting from any sort of range on this game... In fact because of that, there's little point in playing it at all.

Garbage

Yes. Don't use curled shot... its WEAK and SEVERELY underpowered, you won't score shit with it.

Just use normal shot and ul be fine.

If you double tap the curled shot I find it not being weak anymore. Actually use it quite a lot now :)

Is the issue of scoring outside the box got fixed with the new DLC update?

Your feedbacks are much appreciated !!

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks scoring outside of the box on this game is doable is talking absolute rubbish. My friend and I are seasoned footy gamers and have yet to score a single long range effort. As an experiment, we put 2 of our worst outfield players in goal, I hit a powerful shot with Messi right in the top corner and a 67 rated outfield player plucked it out of the top corner. We tried again and again and this happened repeatedly. This is just absolutely ridiculous.

It's ruined what feels like a good game. This just makes it unplayable unfortunately... A complete waste of £40.

No suggestions of buying FIFA instead... It's garbage.

Well boy if your friend is a seasoned footy gamer i must the pesgod over half my goals come from outside the box! Im going to post my fabregas shot and sit you guys down.

Do you know whats really funny, you guys are actually lost in the logic of it. a 1on1 with the keeper in the box a striker should score

a long range shot a goalkeeper should save

Thats how the real world works since when has it ever been opposite to that?

Ive never watched football and its been in the box the goalkeeper should save the ball and long range are tap ins :S

LongRange Proof for everyone

Afellay - LongRange KnuckleLowFizz 29 yards

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVLCHtZqu9c

I got one of these type of goals very frequently , I was trying to give people shooting tips on another forum so i just briefly go over them now

In loading screens you will see the tips for shooting one of them says "holdR2 and use the R-Stick to flick the ball out of ur feet this give yous greater accuracy for passing and shooting for more power try it im sure people know how to stop suddenly as you stop hold R2 and flick rstick n then hit shoot youll see a difference (only when your stationary as you see the goalkeepers do)"

Another tip is when the ball is trapped underyour feet he will not pull off a screamer So watch my video and see fabregas has caught it on the half volley set yourself up from a nice angle by holding R3 while you run/jog he will do mini kickups shoot when the ball is lifted.

The Afellay Special - when you hold R3 and run as the ball flicks up try and perform a knuckleshot the ball goes mental on the R3 Self lay up! you can also jog while holding R3 to jus get the ball infront of you use small power bar and hit shoot again for a knuckle and then quickly press triangle it makes the ball fizz at a low angle!

Get to practicing i spent my first 2 weeks on pess doin 11v11 in training mode for a timless and lagless gaming experience when the game was really bad.

PEStyles it's nice to see smart people like you who always try to learn and find solutions for everything instead of sitting all day moaning and complaining.
Can't wait for the DLC on PC !

Who has two weeks to spend practising their shots. You must be about 12 years of age.

Nether the less the goals are excellent.

I've done it. Playing Genoa against Sassuolo in Serie A. Scored just from outside the box with Bertolucci.

If anyone is having problems with long-range shots or shooting in general I advise going through the in-game training lessons. It explains how you need to put power into your shot first, then aim where you want it to go.

12 years old? im 24 and married with 3 jobs.

I didnt spend everyday for two weeks indoors practicing just shoot, i learned how Konami want you to play the game "Pass & Move"

I learned how to use the R3 to push defenders off you while on the ball i learned every skill including the Advance First Touch and how to dribble so defenders cannot take the ball off me

And then finally i learned how to shoot i experimented all the angles from outside the box from LEft wing to right wing , Knuckles , Lob Shots , R2 Finesse shots and low shots While everyone else was playing the broken Online part of PES i was playing offline in training where there was nothing to Render i.e NO CROWD NO REF NO FRAMERATE ISSUES NO LAG INPUT NO SLOWDOWN IN FINAL THIRD

IT doesnt make me a kid it just makes me smart this is a new game its the base of the new pro evolution era for the up and coming new generation consoles ps4 and xbox1.

So i accepted the fact that we are no longer playing a dated old engine that feels like an advanced ps2 football engine, And sat down to learn everything there is to learn about the new game in my free time, i also used my free time to build alot of faces if you look in editing section.

Im flawless at PES14 because of all my training while others jumped into PES14 and played -1 gamespeed and a total mess of online as if it was still the same as PES13 of course you are going to fail you have no experience on how to play the new game if you do that.

if anyone would like to challenge me to a 1vs1

People are complaining thats fine but does anyone remember when the PES13 demo came out? I couldnt score atall every demo mtch i played i came very close to scoring smashing the crossbar countless times and the ball just fizzing wide it felt almost impossible to score do you know why? Because we had no experience with the new game now look everyone whos had pes13 can score from anywhere a year later. Its how the world works with anything YOU WILL NOT LIKE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU GET USED TO IT!

My sole advice is too keep practicing keep training try new angles read what the tips of the game give you use everything the game gives you skills first touch clse dribbling 1 2 passing self lay off shooting its alll there for you to utilise so train first then play. practice makes perfect and i guarantee by the new year everyone who sticks by pes14 will be able to score long range and play the game properly.

I scored two goals from outside the box last night.
One the keeper messed up but the second was a thing of beauty.

I was about 25 yards outside and I made space and passed it Asprilla and by your advice tapped the R3 stick and released a beautiful top corner shot. He hit it on the half volley and it just kept moving away from the keeper.

Now I have attempted many times to hit shots when the ball is on the ground, with no luck.... is that achievable or is it only volley style shots?

Thanks again

PEStyles, do you have any advice on how to score free-kicks with lots of power? I can place them over the wall quite comfortably, but I still haven't figured out how to launch one for further out. Is it still a case of drilling up on the d-pad? The power gauge seems to only effect trajectory.

:) thats how my fabregas goal was like the ball kept moving away from the keep its beautiful to watch you must of felt a sense of achievement/a first bump in the air when itwent in i certainly do considering how difficult it is when you first start the game it feels impossible but thats how pes13 felt before i learnt too so Im glad youve conquered longranging

Okay so you want to learn how to score longrange will the ball on the ground? ive noticed alot of very powerful shooters are the only ones who can really get it right more than 50% of the time others really struggle, if you look at my afellay video you will see im merely jogging with the small give the bar a good amount of power as he taps the ball away from his feet its about timing do not press shoot when the ball is already infront of him press it as he taps it

Another thing is try and visualise this in your head, Example:

Be cristiano ronaldo and imagine yourself as him on the pitch you see every game he plays he tries to run down the left wing and cut in so he can take the shot with his right foot try to mimic this
take the shot with the players left shoulder facing the goal so he hits the ball across his body they seem torifle the ball into the top right corner alot first practice with proflific strikers like rooney rvp aguero messi ronaldo ect after that you will feel more comfortable to try with others its very effective in pes because it works well in pes13. this is if you dont want to use r3 to set yourself up and just want to merely take a nice snap shot.

Edit: Ive noticed aswell your body angle is very very important in pes14 because of the now 1080 degree turning alot of people will be confuised because of pes13s movement it was very sharp and robotic so you knew what way you was facing Now with the new engine your turning span is a full circle so alot of the time your body positioning will be wrong so if your planning to take a nice shot goto training and make sure you look every angle and how your player is facing the goal because alot of the time his weight will be wrong and youll take the shot with ur weaker foot and ask WTF WHY WITH UR WEAKER FOOT!? its because you rthink your facing the goal at the right angle when your due to the new engine the game is alot more technical than ever before no one will perceiveer in the game with out a willingness to learn every detail about the game.

Well due to the refs being very broken before the update i hardly ever got freekicks in a match so it was hard to practice them in a live game but in training this is what ive learned

Most of you know alot of power means less accuracy and less power mores high accuracy but less ball speed

the best way ive learn to take a power rifle shot from a freekick is do not ad curl with the inside of the foot with the direction gauge always try the outside curler you will see the direction gauge doesnt bend much when you try the outside of the foot
therefor try aim the gauge onto the post not inside the goal but actuallyon the post or the crossbar and practice getting the power bar to reach the end of the orange zone if youu reach the red part of the power bbar its going over the goal into the crowd lol while doing this hold R2 just to soften the shot slightly. im going togo into training and come back with some more feedback.

All seems to make sense. Just tried a spot of free training and this seems to ring true. If you want to give it more power, you've gotta lower the shot and vice versa. It seems just creeping into the orange is the "sweet spot" too.

Thanks dude.
