PES 2017 First Pics and News!

Having a jailbroken PS3, I managed to get a copy of PES 2017 on Friday night. I have to say, having played it, I've come to the decision NOT to get it on PS4. I don't think it's that great. Maybe I just have PES fatigue or something. It's certainly not worth shelling out £50 on day one.

I just think they big it up so much each year but if anything it's worse. Sure the gameplay has been tweaked and it does feel better to play. But is that only because it's new? In a month or two will I still get that buzz, or even notice the difference to 2016?

Player faces. Where do I start. Some of the biggest names in football, missing, to be replaced by a crappy PES 'generic' face. No Lahm, Lewandowski, Ribery. Some players who had faces after the Euro update in 2016 have now disappeared due to licenses. Some players who are big enough players by now still don't have real faces.

Did anyone else notice this from playing the demo, how come Barcelona are an official partner, yet half their younger squad members don't have real faces, yet Atletico Madrid and Arsenal seem to have their whole squads with correct faces. The whole thing is just a bit amateur as usual.

Thankfully, playing on a jailbroken PS3, I can make use of the patches on the internet and play the game how it should be played. Yes, it would be nicer to do that on PS4 but it's just not worth the money in my opinion. Maybe in the Xmas sales!

PS4 and PS3 versions are not exactly the same. And faces probably will be updated on upcoming data packs.

Maybe not exactly the same, but having played both the full PS3 release and the demo on PS4, there isn't enough of a difference to warrant paying £50 for PS4. Maybe when it drops to £30.

As usual, Konami and it's useless employees have bigged up the game again, and, despite the slightly refined gameplay, it's not a whole lot different to last year. In fact, some of the editing things have been taken away, less licenses than ever before etc.

I don't really agree with you. First of all Konami has a small staff so they can't perform big things. Second I think they have done a good job with the gameplay, I think it is satisfying enough. Third Konami can't do anything about licenses since they cost a lot and EA Sports steals them all.

Oh please. Konami are hardly an 'indie' studio. They have more than enough resources (and it seems money) to waste on individual licenses like Liverpool and Barcelona. Everyone knows they can't secure licenses, so why can't they allow players the ability to import player faces etc? I mean, with no bayern this year it means Lewandowski etc aren't in the game at all. That's ludicrous.

Sure the gameplay is marginally better, but they just keep making backwards steps elsewhere.

Bullshit to have wait another damn 2 days for Day One Patch when released today in the US. You would think Day One Patch would be available today since released today in the US.

It is not something Konami wants to achieve. The main issue is the amount of money EA is willing and capable to pay for exklusive licenses.

After playing the Fifa Demo and compared it to PES demo, i am happy that Konami put the focus on gameplay and not on licenses in first place.
As long as it is editable in a proper way, this will be a better solution.
Of course having all the licenses from the start would be nice, but that is nearly impossible, because to high expenses.

To be honest, I'm not sure why there is a difference in release dates anyway? Besides, if anything, surely Europe should have got it before America anyway, what with America not really giving two hoots about football. I agree though, Konami are, as usual, f'king useless!

Is Konami a smaller studio than the makers of 2K? I'm not a huge gamer so would have no idea, but I certainly have been aware of Konami for many, many years so they have to be a fairly big studio. If that's the case, how can NBA 2K be so full of features and totally destroy EA's basketball game every year, but Konami can't with PES? I mean NBA 2k16 was an install of like 50gb. PES is about 10gb. They could make the experience so much better!

As a matter of fact, yes 2K (Take-Two Interactive) is bigger than Konami right now. And also they don't have to fight for licenses with EA in NBA, which makes it an even ground, not like football. Even ground, that's the words that makes them able to totally kill EA in NBA.
But yes, Konami sould've done so much more.

Honestly I could care less about licenses. It took me 10 minutes to apply all the kits, badges etc.

I'm not worried about kit licenses particularly (although those generic names and numbers look pretty rubbish on the back of a proper kit) but the fact that they can't do a similar import thing for player faces etc. It would compensate for the fact that we don't have, y'know, some of the worlds biggest players in the game due to Bayern missing and various other National teams being unlicenced. Even PES 2013 from four years ago had a face scan ability! Now you can't even put new haircuts on preset players. I mean, really?! Talk about regress!!

To be honest, I've downloaded PES 2017 for PS3 and will await for some amazing patches for that, and may even buy FIFA on PS4 this year, depending on what the demo is like. Maybe it's good to just buy the two games alternate years, to keep it interesting.

I guess when I pay $65.00 fucking dollars for game ($59.99 plus tax), I feel I shouldn't have to wait a couple days for the Day One Patch..............the Day One Patch should be the day I buy the game. Maybe not an issue for you, but an issue for me. Still have bad taste in my mouth from last year and the non updated rosters. So if I want to bitch, I WILL FUCKING BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I get it know correctly: It is possible to upload for example the Bundesliga squads with their rosters, stadium names and so on, but it is not possible to upload players' faces?

For example: I upload Bayern Munich, I have the proper roster, but I still have to edit the face of Frank Ribery?!

Hey man, I get your complaints but they ALWAYS said that patch was the 15th. It's not like they said it would be the 13th and screwed up. So you bought the game already knowing that information.

Now if there isn't a patch tomorrow I get that for sure.
