Anyone know what the equivelent of vsync is on ATI graphics cards?

My system is:

AMD 64bit 3000+
768mb RAM
Radeon 9600 256mb Graphics Card

I can't seem to play on anything above low quality settings without experiencing choppy playback when the ball is moving at speed.

If anyone has some settings that work for them with Catalyst Control Centre or anything to help it would be appreciated.

run the game at 800x600 or 640x480 resolution, that should help

your pc should be fine and your card seems ok, try updating drivers, have you a virus making things run slow!! you should be able to run at 1280 or 1024 no problem,let me know how you get on ,ps i dont know what vsync is for ati?

Vsync is, for the people who don't know...the refresh rate of the monitor synchronised with the games frame rate. for instance if you have a monster of a pc and the games running at 100 fps(frames per second) and your monitor's refresh rate is 75hz then you will get tearing of the polygons on screen. this is because the monitor can't keep up. I have a 2.4gz P4, 768 MB DDR ram and a Geforce fx 5900 utlra. my monitor is a 5 years olf 17 inch packard bell crt and ive always found that its best to keep vsync on when your playing games. i hope this helps. i'm no expert but ive been fiddling with pc's and graphics cards for 5 years now.

Thanks guys, I bumped up my refresh rate and that has made it more playable on Medium quality mode - it could be better though.

I had a graphics problem on my pc with funny patterns and colours coming out the players on high and medium resolution. Tried everything with settings but nothing. So cleaned my computer out and re-installed the basics and now its peach. Also run my game through 3D Analyze which seems to of helped too.

Graphical glitches

i have a good graphics card nvidia 6800 ultra but i dont know why there is graphical tearing "horizontal lines" during game play,does anyone know how to cure this? does it require a patch from konami, also are there any ways to improve on graphics 1600x1200! or some other setup i could use to improve on quality any suggestion please ,keith

oops soz i didnt mean to send that. Its your vertical sync mate .Its turned off and only with good graphics ccards shud u turn it on. Its a load of bolloxs really.For the money that we spend there shudnt be anything like that. It happens on most of my games too and i got a reasonable card.
