Risk / frustration button - Certain players can be given a star as to whether they will removing shirt, winding up oposition fans or jump into the crowd after scoring (eg Rooney would be given a wind up star) and abusing officials when penalised (Rooney would have and abuse official star) Their 'unsportsmanlike' celebration would be activated with the risk button (R3) if pressed in between the goal being scored and the celebration scene (or fouls being made and booking / freekick taking).
Last resort button (also R3) - This would be the same as the Risk button but used in open play. Stars for violence (kicking and elbowing), professional fouls (shirt pulling, tripping from behing or handballing depending on the context), and Diving would be available. (Totti could have a diving star, Terry a cynical challenge star, and Todd a violence star).
Dusk added to Day and Night option. The sky would start as daylight and progress to darkness by full time. This would apply in most English winter matches.
Sort out the fans and make them more realistic and emotive.
No classic players in the master league (such as Maradona)
Rivalries - On club / national team editor there would be a section to choose up to 5 players that would be booed by the oposition fans. You could also select up to 5 rival teams where the atmosphere would be derby like and more tackles in the game.
The chance to create national teams.
Set up set piece routines such as which players come up for corners and which stay back.
3rd and Euro kits.
International squads of 32 players, which you narrow down to 23 on the team menu.
A vice captain and second choice for dead balls?
Autumn and Spring as seasons. There should be short sleeve weather, long sleeve weather AND glove weather.
Editable refs.
Stadium creator and editor.
Under 21 teams for England, Spain, France, Germany and Holland.
Editable managers on the touchline.
Ball editor & creator.
Better commentary and crowds (the excitement level of the fans should raise when the ball gets nearer to goal and for set pieces).
The option to edit the licenced teams.
Introduce national teams of: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Iceland, Israel, New Zealand, Canada, Jamaica, Honduras, Trindad & Tobago, Bolivia, Egypt, Angola, DR Congo, Ghana, Togo, North Korea, UAE.

wow 729! you've been thinking about this a lot havent you? great ideas, especially the rivalries one.
i was thinking more and i reckon they should make the captaincy actually mean something like it raises some stats (mentality, teamwork etc) or the downwards arrows have less effect on him

thats a good idea. i was thinking that earlier today when i realised that the only banners i could see in the stands said "football is the beautiful game" and who ate all the pies?"singey said:

As some of you may have seen yesterday in the West Brom vs Chelsea match, they should include..
- diving
- make it so you can select players to crowd round the ref and pressure him into changing his decision.
- the more buttons you press after diving, the more your player rolls around pretending to be injured eg. Drogba

I see that a lot of people want the ability to dive. I also think it would be a nice touch, but I want it to be implemented correctly and not "konami-style". Every new aspect that Konami (KCET) introduced failed the first year. Handballs occurred to often in the first PES it was introduce for example.
Diving should be implemented as follows:
When you are tackled and you are barely able to continue dribbling, you probably get the referee to play the advantage rule. BUT, when you (very) quickly tap L2, your player dives. To do this, you must be quick and the timespan in which you should press it, must be very small...

I saw in the Official PS2 mag this month that the lisences are up for sale between Konami and FIFA. If konami do get them it would be great for PES6 and we might be seeing licensed premier league teams. I think it would be a good idea if you could download a 'patch for it. For Xbox and Xbox 360 owners it wold be over Xbox Live. But for PS2 owners you could still download it through the PS2. LMA Manager 2006 is going to be the first game on ps2 with a patch you can download through the game. If pes did this it would save time and effort switching the players after the Jan transfers.
I played the PC WE9 with birds eyes and i tell you what needs improved.
-EVERY AI team plays like chelsea liverpool juve bayern combined. ie super defensive shape.
-EVERY AI players in the box becomes Terry. ie super blocks.
-KCET expects EVERY body to play it like Barca, Arg, Brazil combined. ie pass pass slow pass. any other style you wont win.
The way i see it KCET went too far with keeping the scores down and the need to play possesion football.
Look im not fifa fanboy, i been playing ELEVEN games since SNES. What i liked about them is the freeform of football it allows. Play it slow, direct, long you name it. BUT not WE9. You MUST pass the ball.
