I will be getting pes i haven't bought fifa since 03, but the demo didn't feel to bad, still has some of the key issues that i hated about fifa though, i.e horrible AI and ball physics but who knows, maybe i will buy both this year? Pes is a release day purchase though where as if i buy fifa will be much later down the line.

Im definitely getting pes. Its miles better in my opinion than fifa, takes more than 5 passes to get from end to end and you dont score the same goal every time... Had fifa 09 last year and to be honest playing pes now reminds me of playing pes 2 and rediscovering a good football game

I'll buy Fifa and rent PES to see if they have indeed improved it much since the demo, i hope so, really want to give it ago for the international teams and to see if the online community is any better than Fifa's which is full of little shits who will do anything to win such as shooting from kick off or taking advantage of any glitch possible, although i'm hoping there wont be any glitches to take advantage of.

Is it just me or does anyone else not get this mentallity of some gamers saying things such as "i'll never turn to the darkside" they're game developers ffs, i dont have a foot in either camp i just want to play a good football sim and couldn't give two shits on who makes it.

Amen to that.

It's almost as if you're calling someone's kid ugly by suggesting that FIFA or PES is better than the other.

PES is back the REAL complete football game not just pass, pass ,pass pass, run , goal repeat like Fifa, in PES you have to really work for your goals, they mean somthing.

Yeah used to love sensible soccer, do any of you rememember the spin off game of sensible soccer called player manager, in which you controlled just one player called Alex Reeves, and you managed the team as well, i had it for the Atari St and used to love that game.

I don't think that Player Manager was a spin off of Sensible Soccer. It was actually Kick Off that came first. Played it for hours and hours on the Amiga. It was the first soccergame where the ball wasn't glued to the players feet! ;o)
Kick Off came in different versions and then came Sensible Soccer - which had different player looks (eg. blond, red or black hair or bald and different skin colours!!! Oh what realism back then!!:w00t). They'd also implemented marks on the pitch from sliding tackles!
I believe that Player Manager then came - where you had control over just one player - and then managed the rest of the team. You started in the lower divisions and had to work your way up. A friend and I almost missed a schooltrip to London (from Denmark!) back in 8th grade because of that game! :D
I believe that World of Sensible Soccer then came out. And THAT game was amasing!!! I downloaded it on XboxLive and all the memories just flooded back!!! Oh the joy! The manager/career mode in that game was out of this world back then!
(They actually made a very good golf game too - Sensible Golf - I believe...!) ;o)

EDIT!!! OH!!! Didn't they make the game "Canon Fodder" also!!?!! I can't seem to fully remember that game - other than it was great fun! Sensible Software should release all their games on LiveArcade!!! ;o)

I've pre-ordered PES 2010 and can't wait having not played the demo (I'm not on Xbox Live).

I might buy Fifa after a few months if I can find it for under £20. I did that with Fifa 09 after I got a bit bored with the same old ML in PES 2009. If this years ML is as good as it sounds then I can't see me buying Fifa at all. Even after all the positive reviews Fifa 09 got, I still found it repetitive after a couple of months.

Bring on Oct 23rd!! :)

Now that pes is playable again i dont even think about fifa anymore let alone consider buying it. In this crowded games market this winter who needs 2 football games?

Both because nothing beats PES with mates before a night out. FIFA because of the club games.
same here.

I will buy both as I do every year, and I will sell Fifa after three days as I do every year.

then why bother getting fifa...?

good point there.

FIFA for the online play, but PES 2010 all the way for offline.

The poll, by the way, is kind of bogus. This is a PES website. You're not going to find too many FIFA-only people hanging out here. You'll likely find PES enthusiasts, or people like myself, who like aspects of both games.

It's just not a fair poll. For the poll to be fair you need to post it at a neutral website - TeamXbox, for example, or the Gamespot console forum.

In fact, why don't you do that, and compare the results with this poll here. That would be fun. Then post back and tell us what happened. If I had to bet on it, I'd bet that FIFA would win the poll marginally.
