PES/WE 2012 DEMO.... What pass assistance do you use?

So as everyone knows there are 5 levels of pass assitance in the demos, the default is 4 so Im assuming that 4 is the normal assist for past PES games, am I correct in assuming this? When playing with 4 it feels like the passing is more like last year than with less assinstance. I 've been playing with 0 assistance but doesn't feel that free as it should be, it still feels like the cpu is controlling the passes, especially when you try short passese in tight areas and for long cross field passes it could get a bit messy. So after experimenting a bit I've resorted back to 4 (default).

I will need more practice to go back to the zero assist but what conerns me is online play, people who use full assist (5) will have a distinct advantage over the ones who want to play a more free game and use less assist. How will Konami work this out? Will they make a default set for online where everyone will be forced to play with to even out the playing field? I would think thats the way to go, probably as I mentioned default 4 which feels like older PES games. But if they don't I could see a nightmare scenario where you pick a mid table team and some bum picks Barca with full assist and starts passing the ball around like crazy. Anyway, what are your thoughts on this new feature and what assist level do you use?

you touched on the most important feature to me. Playing with zero assist is BS it's still CPU assisted, i tweeted John Murphay but as usual he doesn't respond to stuff that he doesn't have an answer for or can't change.

It's an incomplete feature. Someone here on this forum said it: PES12 is PES11 with huge patch.

In this department FIFA12 is the winner, i will only play on full complete 100% manual.

PS: please in the future break your post into paragraphs. Thank you.

It's 3 as default on my demo. Probably not a big issue, but it really is. I take it all off, and I don't notice much difference to be honest. I tried 5 as well, no big difference as far as I can tell.

Maybe I am just damn good at passing? :p

You're only supposed to use paragraphs when changing subject. For example in paragraph one you discuss passing, and in paragraph two you discuss shooting.

I don't follow this myself, but it's just wrong to require someone to break the rules of writing just because you think this or that looks better.

LOL You're right, I wrote it all fast and didn't even go back to spell check it.... Added the paragraph :D

So do you think 4 is basically what usual PES pass assist is? Thats what it feels like to me. Zero gets frustrating, not because Im lazy and don't want to play unassisted but because like you said its not a complete system and is still controlled. Short passes sometimes barely leave my players foot, long ones go behind the player on the wing. Anyway, its just a demo maybe they will address this issue.

now you have me thinking, are there 4 or 5 assist levels? For me on both PES and WE demos its 1 under the max as default, I thought it was 4 but now I wonder if its 3 like you say  My main question is, this default is that the level of assist that PES has always been pEs11, 10 etc??

I checked, there are 4 boxes, so 5 levels as you can remove them all to get 0. So I guess it's 4 that's default on mine as well.

You must have a real bitchin' time reading proper literature then?

...bye...

not because Im lazy and don't want to play unassisted but because like you said its not a complete system and is still controlled.

Only men play on zero assisted controls. People don't know how to pass properly or don't take the time to learn and would rather have the CPU holds their hands all the way to the opponent net and again ask the CPU to score that goal for them so they feel good about themselves. It's basically ping pong and i refuse to play like that.

but the cpu holds your hand even on ZERO, its not unassisted, just less accurate to make you feel like you're doing it yourself.

well yea in this case PES12 pass assist is broken but hopefully will be fixed.

Have you tried FIFA11? i'm sure you did because you could tell the difference when you tried PES12 demo.

I don't really feel a great deal of difference, there is a slight difference in that on zero assistance sometimes the passes feel under-hit and sometimes certain players cannot execute passes when under pressure. So there is a difference, but I don't feel that the bars offer enough of a change, unless it's all change for the final release. I would expect all bars selected, you play anything anywhere and the ball goes to your player. I would expect zero bars to be fully manual (although PES has always re-iterated that it doesn't want to go down this route because everything needs to be stats based. I know the argument about they both don't have to be mutually exclusive but that's KONAMI's take on it).

But yes, the early bars do not represent a great deal of difference and still seem way too assisted. We'll have to see if the release has a more definitive bar system that is more represent of the spectrum of control that many want.

when set to manual pass, through and long passes stats don't matter anymore because whoever is holding the gamepad is actually making that move. They can however still maintain other stats such as stamina, strength, etc...

I don't see what's the big fuss about stats because everyone picks the best team with top stats anyway!

This game is all about the player holding the gamepad not the CPU and stats.

Thats just bs. I suppose you don't play ML then?

..and indeed Konami must somehow put the variety between great and bad passers and I guess that's where random factor in passing accuracy/speed should occur, when using assistance 0.
On 5 I'd see less random factor, but still stats based accuracy / speed.
