PES 2009 will be released for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360, PC-DVD and mobile phones on 17th October, followed by versions for PlayStation®2 on 30th October, and for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) on 6th November and for Wii in 2009

I've checked the Konami Europe website and it does not say anywhere in the Champions League announcement that the PS2 version of PES 2009 will be released on October 30th.

Only the release date for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC have been confirmed with a release date for the Wii confirmed for 2009.

I think the PS2 release date will involve some guess work at the moment so you should take that link above with a pinch of salt.

Like I said in my above post, KCET have only made an annoucement regarding the release of PES 2009 for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and the Wii.

There was no mention of the PS2 version in that announcement but that does not necessarily mean that the new Champions League mode has been omitted from the PS2 version of PES 2009. :no:
