PES09 Skills are Automatic?

Read this in the net from RYU99... Can anyone confirm if all the right stick moves such as lob, 360, etc is vanished??

Apparently in PES09 the skills are automatic which is pathetic I mean look at what EA is doing, the amount of realistic skills they have incorporated into the game is excellent.

I was hoping PES09 would finally add some new skills and animations to the new version but what do I know they actually managed to take away what works without adding anything new.

But EA ‘s game is too sloppy for my taste if only the game play was as good as PES standards.

Watch the above video to see why the Marseille turn is so important in the game to make it automatic is useless.

Hopefully Konami gives you the option to configure your own controls so you can still use the right analogue stick to the 360 turn manually.

lmao... where are your sources... i bet you are a lil fanboy...

PES has intergrated skills into the generic control set... and as for fifa with all these tricks added... tell me... who uses all those tricks on a regular basis??? tbh it is often that i see luke young peform Marseille turn followed by a few cheeky step overs and then flick the ball over his head... yeah evey weekend

yeah i heard something like that, it would be pretty stupid if it was true tho, like in pes2008 when some players do that like cut in turn automatic, all it ever usualys does it fuck it up for me, i like using the skills when i want too.

Question answered, "PES has intergrated skills into the generic control set" I guess you will have to hold down the L button or something while performing the trick.

I like using the trick when Im up a 3-0 to be fancy or when it actually is the only way to get by a defender.

Fifa's trick stick are way too much, like Fifa street or something

i only ever really like to use it when i am with mates and want to show them a trick they didnt know exsisted on Pro, like when they first introduced the drag back...

Or if i wanna creat a lil space...

but to add realistic skills are good... or if you are gonna add something out of this world... make it specifically for the one player that can and would do it during open pleay (ie CR7)

true... i never liked step overs in the game really though... same as fifa... they dont really do anything... in real life it sells as a lil dummy.. but as the game is a computer brain and not a human it never sells and you just end up doing one for the sake of it, lol

Automatic Skills is the way to go, if Implemented Properly they would be awesome.. Football is too fast for Complicated Controls like the ones used in FIFA.

Wich by the way, Who uses those tricks in Real Life?? That's not what Football is about.. yeah maybe step-overs, drag-backs, and a few others. But FIFA has a range of tricks that are Unrealistic, most of those tricks wouldn't work in Real Football.

Maybe, Automatic Skills are not the best way of Implementing moves into the game.. But Simpler Controls are more suited for Football Games. I think PES should Elaborate on that Minimalistic approach -without- going as far as FIFA with all those Unrealistic and Excessive moves.

Great point.. I've always though PES should implement something New to the Defensive Controls. Maybe an "Anticipating" button.

So that when an Opponent performs a Step-Over, and you fail to Tap the "Anticipation Control" -then- the opponent should leave you wrong footed for a split-second, just like in real life..

And of course Depending on the Opponent's Dribbling Skills -and- the Defenders Defensive Skills. The one (Attacker or Defender) with Superior Skills -should- have an Advantage over the Other.

Anyways, I agree, Step Overs are a bit pointless in Current Football Sims. The Defensive and Attacking Play CAN improve on this matter.

Step-Over are very useful!

When standing still perform a few Step-Over and there will be a boost in acceleration when you take the ball forward.

I am not sure how useful Step-Over are during movement…

I think that FIFA have integrated the skills excellently. Not any player can perform these skils. Only the players that are worthy. It would be quality to pull off some cheeky skills when u are playin ya mates rather than just sprinting and barging past them. Aint none of you seen Ronaldinho in his early Barca days, oreven Ronaldo... they actuall do these things week in week out.

i dont just sprint past... i pass it around to create space and allow people to run into space...

Well that makes the 2 of us, cos thats all you can do n PES. But half the shit users I play on the PES online mode just try to sprint from 1 end of the pitch to the other.

Besides, I am talkin about lil pieces of individual talent. Like the Ronaldinho's, Cristiano Ronaldos & Joe Coles of the world??? That actually do these types of things week in week out. I don't mean over elaborate skills. Just bits and pieces would be nice, would breath a new life into the supposed great gameplay of PES. (Thats been the same for the last 5-10 years)

Sure about that?? Never noticed it.

Are there other ways of doing this -without- Step-Overs??

You should play Pro Eovlution earlier titles again back to back and you wil notice that there has been an evolution in game play.

Play one game of pro evolution 5, then play one game of the 6, 2007, 2008...

And compare it to the demo on Thursday.
