I get so irritated playing this game. NO, I don't play online. I refuse to. First off, I don't play this game enough to compete with the major wierdos who play online. Secondly, I don't play with stacked teams. Thirdly, I hate playing games against nerds who just use the exploits to score goals.

So, in turn, I play all my games against the CPU. This is where I just have so much fun. I have broken about 3 controllers now and I know the latest controller I've bought will not last me more than a month. Why do I do this you might ask? Hmmm.... well, let's examine this.

Ever wonder why your players don't run in the direction you are pressing on your joystick? I will be playing a game and notice that my players have a mind of their own. I will clearly be pressing the right button, but my player will continue to run straight. I just want to know how it is possible that the Konami programmers can sit down and "test" this game and say, "I think we have a good product here". I have never played a video game that literally takes control of your players. I though that was the whole point of playing the games.

Ever wonder why whenever the championship starts to get tight, it just seems like your players start to get dumber and dumber. I play with Juventus and let me tell you, the better the team, the harder this game is to swallow. My defense is AWFUL. They don't understand how to stay in position, they constantly sprint upfield when I need them deep the most, and when a header comes into the box, the computer frequently freezes my guy so I can't move him. YAAY FUN!

I just don't understand how Konami can put out a product where you fight against your own team, more than the other team. I understand that they don't want to have to pay for intelligent programmers, but I think that they really should start. The problem is that Konami know we will buy the next game no matter what. So, they can change nothing, maybe add and extra move or two, change the menu's a bit, but basically they change nothing in the span of an entire year.

It is just amazing to me how my players can blast a ball from point blank range over the net 11-12 times a game, just because the computer want to see a 1-0 game opposed to a blow out. So, instead of actually programming some new defensive AI, the computer just controls your players and makes them suck. I call it the "Crowbar", because it is like someone just hit a golf style shot at the football and it goes straight up in the air. Quite amazing.

Another great feature Konami adds is the back to back goal extravaganza. This is where you are ahead in a game by one. With 5 minutes to go the opponent scores some beligerant, retarded, unfair goal and you start bending and twisting the controller in your hand. Konami wants you to say, "Gee golly I need to hold the lead better (cackle, cackle)", implying my defense must be the issue. However, it is hard to comprehend their BS because when the goal was scored I was trying to run to a loose ball but my player kept changing speeds just so the opponent could pick up the ball right in front of me, blast a slow roller at Buffon who lets this difficult softy bounce off of his face and to my defender, who I tell to clear by pressing square, but when I do this the ball is mysteriously passed to a wide open oppenent so slugs home the hardest shot i've ever seen. I guess my defense must suck.

But, it isn't all bad after this. The best part is, in this back to back goal extravaganza, I get to move my best player through their non-existant defense and rifle a shot (finally) on net and past the keeper. What excitement. BACK TO BACK GOALS in the last 5 minutes. Wow, I just can't wait until my next joyous game!

The controller breaking part usually comes in, when I don't get this BS goal. Or when players like Del Piero's first touches bouce 100ft away from him. It is truly amazing how bad my players suck when the computer wants to win.

When is Konami going to improve their AI? Why do I continue not only to buy this game, but to play it? Why can other people enjoy this lame game and I can't? Wierd.

I just don't know. I guess I have some issues.

I think this is in the wrong section but anyways...

1. Doesn't happen to me very often but when it does just turn analog off and everything is back to normal. If you use the stick turn it back on.

I agree with just about all your other points especially how Konami is milking the franchise. I understand that they can't get many licenses cuz of EA but they could've done other stuff like add a bunch of made up teams and leagues exclusive to the ML. This way we'd have a realistic schedule, a 2nd and 3rd division for each league, more groups in CL, and we don't have to put a bunch of strong clubs together in 1 league. They are clearly overcharging for their mediocre (aside from gameplay) product. Since you call it pes2007 then you must live in north america. A classic example would be EA's NHL franchise vs the NHL 2k franchise.

The reason y many goals will come late is cuz if the AI is trailing they'll switch to 3-4-3, or in Chelsea's case, 3-3-4. I really hate this cuz as soon as they do I end up adding 2 or more goals to my tally. This happens more often on Top Player cuz of their ultra aggressive nature. On Professional many clubs will continue with their normal formation no matter what the score, leading to lower scoring matches.

As for our own team's AI defending yes they can really crap and frustrating at times but I'll accept anything that makes the crappy AI of WE9 score more goals against me.

You should try renting Fifa. If that fails you then I guess quit footy titles until someone gets it right

Hahaha, you realise Konami are watching as well mate? Better start on that tin hat to keep in all your thoughts, paranoid little fuck. The games not against you, or anyone for that matter.

I have noticed some of those same issues, lol. Its funny how I can run a 5-4-1 formation and the other team can still shoot through balls right past my defense. I never understand how thats possible. In FIFA 07 when I run a 5-4-1 formation , through balls almost never get past my defense. Come on think about it, if there are 5 defenders and 4 midfielders, how is it still so easy to run past my defense with through balls and lobbed through balls...thats crazy..but I guess its a flaw that us winning eleven 2007 players have to deal with until they fix it in the 2008 season...well good luck anyways.....

Yes, you're quite right of course. This is why I never play against the CPU. I only ever play online, or against friends.

The worst glitches I reguarly experience are when i'm a CB and the ball is played up to a CF slightly to one side, and in front of me, and I press e.g. left and forward very lightly, a second before the ball is recieved by the CF, and my CB freezes, and when the CF recieves the ball and has run past my backline, Only then does my CB decide to dash forward.

When you are passing it out to a wide player near the touchline, who has to run out twoards the touchline to recieve the ball, and you quite clearly press forward before recieving the pass, and your player just runs with the ball straight in to touch.

You have pretty much no control over through balls, and particuarly lofted through balls in pes6. I was a master of them in pes4 because they were bassically automated, but in pes6 they almost always go straight in to the arms of the opposition GK if you press it hard, or to the wrong player if you press it lightly. They never go to the logical place where you'd want to place them. This is blatant diddling by the CPU as it is the only way they can get it to a realistic percentage of completed through balls, where as in fact the reason in real football there is a fairly low percentage, is that most players haven't got the vision to play them. This is particuarly unfair as the the CPU seems to have an infinite variety of through passes, with perfect accuracy, even when it's playing as watford.

Also with shooting and free kicks there is no consistency, surely it should be down to your control, rather than the CPU as to wether your shot goes in. You can press the exact same buttons, in the exact same situation, in the exact same way and the shot will always get a different result.

The thing I hate most about PES6 though is the fact that your now allowed to shove (or body check) players off the ball, and even shove players when they're not in possesion. This leads to very boring online play as now for example if you play against someone as barca, and they play as inter, they can just shove all over the fucking place, and never have to make one proper challenge. Most of these shove challenges in real football would lead to free kicks at least, if not yellows. This isn't fucking ice hockey.
