PES2009 Apologise

I known I've been flaming things a little with my posts and many people do not agree with me, although I want to say that this is my way to express how angry I am with PES2009, since this is the only way I have to share my dislikes about PES2009. I can't say PES2009 is bad game, cause 1º I haven't played it yet and 2º Its indeed the best football game. I just think it was very possible to do something better and sometimes KONAMI seems lazy, I am aware of their current financial problems but something such as faces or equipment editing has nothing to do with money. I just don't want people to see my posts as if I was saying that PES2009 is bad but instead I wan't them see my posts as trying to expose something bad in the game and I realise this is the only way that I can expose, since I can't go to Japan and point a gun at seabass and make demands.

Sorry for some agressive answers, I hope PES continues for eternity and I will sure buy each one of them.

You now have good points. The faces aew not in the license badge, all they need is the pics, so it would be easy...

But I'm looking forward to this game, and I'm gonna jugde it barely with the Demo coming out Thursday.

Konami should have produced a much better football game than PES2008 and I am not convinced that 2009 will be much better, maybe they will resolve the issues with lag etc etc but the gameplay has taken a huge step backwards since the move to next gen.

The players do not move around on the pitch realistically like they did in the PS2 versions and from the perspective 2009 looks just the same as 2008.

I will most probably

The gameplay to me looks...brilliant. Even the vids on pesunites.com and other vids where the teams playing are WE united Vs Pes United the gameplay looked fluid, fun and realistic and bearing in mind that those 2 teams are the worst teams on the game then i cant wait. Wednesday night is going to be hell

you will see people saying FIFA is crap, based purley on the demo but when the PES demo comes out people will be saying 'well it's not the final product blah blah blah!'

Im not a fan boy, i just like good footy games.

I for one will be judging alot of the core gameplay on the demo. Not the online or things that arn't IN the demo, but the main game of football PES plays.

If the same people who judge FIFA poorly based on the demo then say "wait for the full game before judging" for PES, then they are hypocrits and their opinion is certainly not worth listening too.

I judged FIFA 09 (the core game at least) after extensively playing the demo, and I will do the same thing here.

how did you find it?

Hated it! Well, I thought the midfield play was excellent, but the ball felt completely wrong and I wasn't much fond of the defending either - although that's a criticism I generally level at PES as well!

I also found the trick system frustrating and largely irrelevant.

I do hope they keep the passing system for FIFA 2010 though. That plus proper ball physics could make it excellent. There is no question in my mind PES will have to really up the ante next year.

Never judge a game by its demo.

Not in this day and age.

I agree not to judge the FULL game, but you can certainly judge things like graphics and gameplay mechanics. After all its a demo of a finished game, not an alpha build.

the seabass interview

---------------------------------------

I personally found the fifa demo so slow in gameplay terms i could loose the ball upfront, go downstairs, make a sandwhich, make a drink, eat it at the table and by the time i'd done all that and come back upstairs they would of probably made it to the halfway line. The game speed is too slow in fifa and the pitch need to be bigger to speed it up. An annoying thing is that shooting sometimes is like kicking a balloon. Long ball hang in the air like a flying squirrel and the ball is just too light. Yes you can pull of good shots but most of the time it goes over and they run the same 'ball going over the bar' annimation time after time where each shot going over goes over at the same height. In pes i can score screamers. In Fifa its just a test of not kicking the balloon too hard and maybe it'll slowly go in.

Imo you can judge alot from demo's. In this case the demo is atleast an 85% build so its almost what it will be. I recently downloaded the 2008 demo again to get a feel for pes since i sold my copy 6 months ago and the two are almost identicaly bad. Not many differences atall. They were similar in alot of aspects, especially in graphical terms. And imo you arent a hypocrit for thinking that there wont be an improvement on gameplay in the demo because for all you know fifa may not improve that much on their demo and pes might really pull some strings so saying "fifa demo was crap", and then saying "The pes demo was early build, give it time", may not actually be that wrong in the end because imo pes has alot more potencial to make noticable changes than fifa if they need to in the gameplay dept. Imo opionon playing fifa 09 is exactly like 06 as ive seen them both in quick succession round my firends house and a few mates laughed at that fact. The graphics have changed but game speed in fifa is and always will be slower than pes and more importantly the real thing. Pes 09 is quite different compared to 06 though and they are making "crucial changes to gameplay" which i can already see and the pace of the players and ball is getting ever closer to the real deal.

All in all Fifa is a major flop as the demo is so boring they'd have to take about 10 years to get to what i'd call 'fluid, free flowing football'. Im not saying fifa is a really bad game but it just wont be as fun to play as pes.

ahhhhhhhhhhh fuck...I don't have a internet connection and won't even be able to play the demo. I'm relying on the feedback on this site! Can't wait till tomorrow to read all about it!

Do you not even have a mate you can go to? You could just plug in and leave it for 10 mins.

i think the gameplay will either make or brake the game. sure konami are lazy bu the alternative is lazier! they had the contract for all the english sides when they moved to next gen and they havent put the championship or anything lower into their game, but the laziest part for me is the fact they have all the sponsors and yet the keepers are wearing the same awful unlicensed strips, whats that all about!
