pes3: How the heck do you defend crosses/corners?

Anywhere outside the box my defenders can head away pretty easy. But the minute the cpu gets a cross into the box my defenders suddenly become like they have 3 stone of lead in their boots and can barely get off the ground no matter how soon/late I mash at [ ]. I've tried that play agin feature in training and it seems like there's naff all you can do. Its a case of "if cpu gets cross in, hope for the best". Does anyone have any methods of at least improving your chances of making a clearance header?

Crosses in the box are the easiest to defend, just bring out your keeper.

when i header the ball i just keep tapping the button

i tried to time my headers as the ball come down and pray!

its all about timing

and its better to have tall defenders good in the air

If crosses curls between penalty spot and goal line just press (hold) triangle and your keeper will come out and jumps to the ball. If crosses curls futher then try win header with perfect timing.

I have problem with aiming my headers at my defending zone...headers always goes to opponent or "danger zone" even how hard I try to aim them to the own players or "clear water". Does anyone know some kind of tip for that?
