Did I say he lies  I just said that I don't believe anything until I see it, that's all

Thank you Han :)

Eric88 listen mate, that's OK. You don't have to beleive me, that's your choice. I'm giving you only information that is officially announced, and trust me, when they announce something, they don't change their minds. I'm not one of those "direct contacts" you experienced before.

IT is not in my interest to deceive you or give you false information. I don't base my posts on intuition, loyalty to any system, and similar.

It is very simple, read PES4 online magazine on www.pes4.net again, since that is finally official information for general public.

You will see that it says for Xbox: ONLINE PACKAGE
>Compatabile with Xbox Live, where players will be able to play against fans of all over the world in real-time matches.

whilst for PC it says: NETWORK EXPERT!
>Features an network-mode, where multiple PCs can get connected for exciting multiplayer-modes.

On the next page with system requirements and recommended specs, it says:
>Network(TCP/IP 1.5Mbps or higher)

As Mike69 said, you need decent/good network card to allow for smooth gameplay.

Becham77, there is no official date for Xbox version or PC version yet. Online shops have put "some" release dates and are using it as a strategy to get people to pre-order the game from them. However, Konami still hasn't made it official. All they say is November 2004. And you will find release dates starting from 4th of Nov. upto 3rd of December.

I'll post the release date as soon as it becomes available to me. I'm hoping in next couple of weeks that I'll know more.

You are all so bloody late. Everyone knows this, everyone being www.soccergaming.tv, pesfan.com and evo-web.co.uk. They are even setting up online leagues. The Wolf has stated thousands of times that a simple free piece of software allows ip to ip for definite. So what Konami say about the network play etc...this means it can be online.

OK, thx for the info and sorry if you took it personally, i didn't want it... It's sad that in the year 2004 Konami goes to the market with network play and not internet play. I hope that it will work with the software Wolf's talking about

I work for a gaming magazine and have direct contact with Konami.

There is no online play.

What is suggested in online magazine is that you need a network card with capacity to support data transfer between PCs since you can network up to 8 PCs together. Since not every PC comes with the network card as a standard equipment.

Sorry guys for spoiling your hopes.
In fact, I have a friend work in konami shanhai , he confirmed PC PES4
have online module in september.

PES4 PC will not have an online mode. It will end up being online because fans will make a mod for the game but dont expect any official online mode.

Superb. Mr. "Seabass" said in his article that they currenctly have PS2 version which is online playable, albait that version is not available to us consumers.

Wait and see.

I'm tired of this ridicilous discussion!

And Eric, no worries, I ain't taking anything personal. I just don't want you to be disappointed even more once the game gets released.

And yes, somebody will make game online playable, but officialy it is not.

In www.pes4.com it says *No need (the network) if you do not go on the internet. That's what's giving me hopes :D

That's the main point.
If the network mode just the connection between two computers(not though the internet) , why konami particulary mention this sentense "No need the network if you do not go on the internet" :D

That's because Network card uses TCP/IP, which stands for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. It is the basic communication language or protocol of the Internet. It can also be used as a communications protocol in a private network, either an intranet or an extranet. (this is what PES4 will use)

Also, Network card doesn't come as a standard equipment with every computer so they want to make sure that you need it.

The sentance, *No need if you do not go on the internet means that you do not need this card, unless you use it to go on the internet over it, like DSL or CABLE. But, that doesn't mean the game is online playable.

It is very simple, to have 1.5 Mbps transfer, you need VERY expensive connection. Why would they put such a requirement when there is no 1% of users that will have it???

Again, they wrote already that it is network connection not a internet connection.

thank you for your information
But, is it easy to make a mod for an actual internet play?

It has been posted on www.pes4.de (German site) that famous sentance *No need if you do not go on internet, is a mistake by Konami co-workers and that ONLY network mode is in the game.

No online for PC this year... what a shame...

I thought common LAN speeds were 10baseT, 10/100 and gigabit. Non of these seem to match the minimum or recommended specs mentioned.
64kbps sounds a lot like ISDN to me, and whilst 1.5Mbps sounds unusually high for a home Internet connection it may be as others have said - to prevent people with 512 broadband complaining about performance.

I expect the PC version to be very closely related to the xBox version, so I would think it very likely for it to be possible to play online. The main difference is that Microsoft have xbox live as an established service.

The Internet is really just a very large TCPIP network, so if its playable via TCPIP on a LAN, it should be possible over the net. If 2 people have static IP addresses I would expect them to be able to play straight off. The rest of us may need to wait for a helpful service to join it all up for us...

Hope I'm right.

It says as follow in the pressrelease:
"Similarly, the PC-DVD version of the game, supports LAN network play and online play via TCP/IP connections, again allowing one-against-one matches with a hooked up opponent."

One thing I cant understand though... why 1.5 mbit? Isnt that a little high?
Then the Xbox-version also need 1.5 mbit... which is too high, I mean, some people play with 0.3 mbit or 0.5 mbit there.
