Must agree there get into training mode my friend do the challenge training as this should help you get more of a feel for the style" your style" and gameplay

Ah, just because I don't spend an ungodly number of hours of my life playing Pro Evo, it doesn't mean it's me. The AI is just ridiculous, nobody defends like that in real life, just swamping the penalty box? My team AI also have a tendency to go offside and just stand still for several seconds...I'm not sure, day-dreaming? My team also never position themselves, they just stand behind defenders, being useless.

Those bastards over at play.com why they takin the piss i ordered max drive weeks ago but theve been outta stock so being the impatient kinda guy i am iv'e spent the last 72 hours editing Pes5 just finished there all kits badges e.t.c

i just finished about ten mins ago so i decided to take a look at Play.com and low and behold THEY HAVE STOCK
those monkey spankers don't know how much hard work i just put in in the last 72 hours pfft.
Oh well mine will do for the next 3-5 days then i'll be fully updated still hate then though i feel sick and everything had hardly any sleep suppose i'll sleep tonight though

So many annoying aspects of PES5, it makes me wish i never bought it...its so frustrating that i wanna throw my pad at the TV!!!

how come the computer can do all these fancy dribbles even with the worst players in the game, yet my players dribbling abilities seems to be handicapped?!

How come, when i'm about to make and interception, the computer see's fit to miraculously take over my player and place him behind the opposition so i can no longer intercept the pass?

how come when my defender is in a race with the opposition to the ball, i suddenly lose control of my defender for a split second, as the computer takes over?!

How come, even my fastest players can't outrun players who are blatantly slower than them? Henry being matched stride for stride with Hyppia....

Why do i get penalised for the slightest touch on an opposition and the computer can get away with more severe challenges?!

WHY?!?!?!?!

Sort it out Konami...or i might have to do the unthinkable, and check out FIFA

Ooh i bet they're trembling at the thought that you might stop buying pro evo.

Maybe you just don't have the gaming ability to handle PES5 - i know i do.

The AI is spot on, so quit whining like a spoilt brat.

Believe it or not most people playing PES have social lives and don't need to spend an "ungodly number of hours" playing it in order to get good. As i said to the other chap, it may be that you are just too cack-handed to cope with the game. This is why god made FIFA.

What star you playing on?.. how long have you been playing pes.. as in the series?.. Konami change the game so you get a more challenging experience.

Hmm.. have you tried super cancel.. so you have direct control over the player?.. it doesnt always work.. but.. give this a try.

Well as i said super cancel works for me.. and the whole manual cursor select option on player settings.

Again .. i'd ask what star your setting is on.. and i know for fact Hyypia cannot keep up with Henry.. I must have lost count the amount of times I've skinned this guy.. even with Castolo.. and he's not as good as Henry.

A case of frustration my friend.. its a clear case of you being too aggressive for the ball.. you have to play smarter not harder.. find a balance between pressure and standing off.. utilise your possession better when you have the ball and not be frustrated by what appears to be the cpu trying to cheat.. its a game after all and the cpu is challenging you to overcome these aspects..

Yeah ... Seriously.. go ahead.. check FIFA out.. I don't think konami will be too miffed.. as the consumer you have every right to check fifa out anyway?.. Wasn't fifa out before Pes?.. how come you've not tried .. it already?

The way i see it is if you want to become really good at PES then you have to prepare every year for the changes konami makes to the game.
The new dribble system took me a few goes to get used to it.. as you sometimes have a defender doing a sidestep when theres no need for him to do it.. when you jump up a few levels.. say 4* and 5* the cpu tends to be more aggressive and its all about being composed and working the space.. i think sometimes this is where the guys at piggyback refer to the gamers being just gamers and the ones with a distinct advantage are those that watch football 24/7.. and also play football either professionally or semi pro.. the cpu charges round on hounding you for the ball... and seems hell bent on hacking down your first 11.. if you really are struggling and get to the stage where your pad meets its demise.. turn the console off and relax for a bit.. clear your head and come back later turn the console back on and start all over learning all the basics from 1* through to 2* and so on.. find whatever suits you best my friend.. as its also a game you should enjoy i stress that sometimes the truth hurts.. and you might not be as good as you first thought...I am sure if your determined to be really good at the game you need to gain experience first.. and in time you'll become a good player.. I myself don't proclaim to be the best.. but i'll find out just how good i am come a few months time when i try pes5 online.

I won't resort to insulting and its unfortunate that i don't have the time to sit in front of my TV for hours playing PES5

I noticed these small annoyances and highlighted them in my previous post, and if i can't voice my opinion then i best shut up, coz i certainly can't seem to voice my opinion on this forum without getting cussed!!!

No, the AI isn't spot on, you poor excuse for a prole. It's far from spot on, otherwise it'd be perfect. Real clever! Has your brain been functioning recently, or do you bend down with pleasure to let Konami fuck you up the arse? Have you not noticed the AI manages to get away with fouls that you do not, such as taking down a player on goal and not getting a card? Have you not noticed that all the AI does is stick out the players legs to get the ball? Have you not noticed that a player with 99 top speed and acceleration can be caught up with almost any defender? This is not like football, this is a load of bollocks.

From reading this board I wouldn't say most people do have social lives, seeing as they go on about their PES achievements to no end. They must have quite a lot of free time to play all those games!

No, I'm not cack-handed, I was quite fine with Pro Evo 4 so I don't think I've got arthritis between now and then. I know a lot of people who play Pro Evo and they all tend to agree that it's not up to standard.

I'll agree with you monsieur! but not with the insults.. (konami been fucking previous poster to the thread up the arse?..) this wasn't necessary was it?
I aggree the AI Isn't spot on.. theres still alot more needed to be done with the series.
But i'd have to disagree that pes4 is the better game. The series is definately getting better. The animations are better for the shots and the goalies.. they aren't all spot on but they are better, the AI has improved from the last game but it certainly isnt spot on. Your correct to hold your own opinion but i'm also correct in holding mine.
I dont agree with players catching up but how else could the cpu make it harder?.. If you crank it up to 5/6* the cpu runs round fouling you willy nilly and gets away with it .. agreed .. but cranking it up to this level what do you expect?.. by sending the level up to max the cpu has to then make the game harder surely?
It seems people want to be the best at pes and play the game on the max setting and yet still expect to win every game comfortably?
I may be wrong with this.. but like i said just my thoughts.

Can i just say, the offside system has some bugs in it...

i mean on one occasion i fouled the opponent in their corner of the field, and from the resultant free kick, the opponent duly knocked the ball forward for my striker to intercept, and as i was about to run towards the goal, the ref blew the whistle....it turned out, the opponents striker was offside and i lost my field position and was duly borught back into my own half!!!

and when the ball comes off an opponent, does that not mean, my players are no longer offside when they receive the ball?

another question i hope someone can answer...how come it seems "easier" to play on 5* rather than 3*..

I mean when i first got PES5 i wanted to get used to the more patient style required for the game i played on 3* and my matches always ended in draws, or the odd 1-0 win...wheras on 5* i was able to beat Chelsea 3-1 and Liverpool 4-0.

shouldn't it be harder on 5* rather than the opposite
