I'll say it again for the 57th time. It happens in the full game too. Get used to it. It's their solution to fix the slowdown and it helps but there is a little bit of slowdown when playing on 60Hz - when there are a lot of players on the screen (corner or free kick).

sorry you being a pain zyg! thanks for the info tho

i think thats a stupid idea, i hardly ever got any slowdown on pes4 and i'd rather have occasional slowdown than not seeing the crowd!

Yes Yes!!
In PES 5 there will be a little bit slow down when you play in 60hz mode

but you will find if there is a few players near the penalty box,
there won't any slow down and when your striker shoot the ball, the ball will go like rocket.

Nice col!!!

Mate, I beg to differ that the gameplay is too fast or arcadey. If I did not experience the difference, I would have agreed with you. Ever since I had my GE Force 4 driver updated to the expense of my Brothers in Arms- Road to Hill no longer running properly , my PES4 however is running at the right speed. No too fast not too slow just about right. Before that it was like you said fast and arcadey. The game is so realistic that I just could not put it down. I particularly like the fact that CPU tends to increase their attack if they are trailing. Similarly, if CPU lost on the 1st leg, you can expect more attack and hell during the 2nd leg. I found this element lacking in WE9 at least under the 5 star level. Even when the CPU does attack, it is not as intense as in PES4. However I am not sure whether this scenario is the same for the 6* level. Once I have accumulated enough of points, I will certainly give this level a try.

I guess you haven't experienced the WE series then. General opinions is that PES is always faster than WE series. This iteration PES5 is not that fast, but still faster than WE9/WE8LE. Maybe you prefer a faster paced game like EPL, whereas others like me prefer a more continental pacing.

Anyway it's all matter of taste/gamestyle. If you prefer it the way it is, then cheers to you mate. Have fun and enjoy.

For me I like PES 5 more than WE9.
cos the players movement and the game speed are look more comfortable than WE9.

i have a question about evo 5. When you assign the under shorts like duff, do you choose the colour for the player or do you just turn it on or off and the colour is that of the team's shorts? if you have to choose one colour it would be stupid because duff will be running around for ireland in green shorts with blue under neath. cheers

I never expereienced slow down on Pes4, i think that Pes5 is another step forward compared to fifa 20 steps back every year. As far as im concerned, rather have slow down if any, than seeing empty stands, then appearing full on reply/highlights.

Played PES5 full for the first time today, it was awesome. Takes alot of getting use to, the passing is much more difficult, the dribbling is harder and turning with the players is so much slower. Konami really did improce this game and it really is much more diffucult to play. Pressing Triangle doesn't just release you into a one-on-one anymore now, it's all about taking your time and playing good football. I think it's too easy to score outside the box with players liek Nedved, Vieri, Seedorf and others. But apart from that, perfect, can't wait to play this for another whole year. Love Juventus in the game, just love them.

Got Pes 5 today!

Today I got myself PES5. I live in Holland (Zoetermeer) and it already was out in some shops (future zone & Bart Smit (toy store)).

My impression: Practically no slowdown on both 50 and 60 hertz, very smooth gameplay and very nice "battling animations" between two players. All the menu's and stuff look very nice and polished as wel as the players faces.
Played just a couple matches but the tension is unbearable when you're playing someone that's just about as good als yourself. Very few goals and very frequent misses where the ball just flies out the stadium. Scoring goals with R2 is great and so is the rest of the game.

Sorry for the short sentences, but I just want to continue playing :) So off I go!

I have played pes5 on ps2 and after playing on we9 for months now I found pes5 quite easy.I think because the game play is slightly better with better passing, shooting and less fouls you get a better game. With we9 at first the game frustrated me but on pes5 I jumped straight in.

Played my first game on PES5 Yesterday.. First game i had was Madrid (Me) against Barcelona (Cousin). The reason is because i wanted to experience playing these two teams with their new kits. It felt realistic. The game is brilliant. Passing is harder, takes longer to turn. Gameplay is slower but in a realistic way. Anyway, i started with the best possible line up, and i was impressed to Finally see j.Baptista and Robinho with real faces. I started them instead of Raul and Guti.. It helped as Robinho gave a good cross for Ronaldo to head in. 0-1. j.Baptista got the second goal before half time thanks to Robinho again after a class through pass. 0-2. Ronaldinho and Deco hit two goals to bring it to extra time. 3-3 AET, Robinho and Van Bommel got the goals. Penalty shootout, i won 5-6.. with Robinho the man of the match getting the winning goal.. What a way to start.. Looking forward to hundreds of games.. Really impressed, love the game, especially Inter (Adriano) as im playing them now.. The game is fantastic, better than PES4.. and overall, no dissapointments, atleast not by me.. ;)

Ive played the demo of pes5, and its class! although i read summet on here yesterday that its easy to score outside the box like with long shots. I then tried having more shots outside of the box and scored a screamer with lampard from about 35 yards. The next game i chested the ball down and hit it on the half volley and it flew straight in, so my point is, it does seem easier to score outside of the box if the right space has been given. I havent mastered free kicks yet and have never been good at them but ive heard they are pretty easy to, this shouldnt be the case. Anyways,, part from that GREAT GAME, so realistic and slowed down which is like really football, for example wen turning with the ball, you can just get out of the way from an oppenent, its operated slower and the player will catch up with you if you do it too close to them. Can't wait to get the game this friday, going to pre order it today.
Cheers!

Actually If you want to score out of the box accurately, maybe I can give some idea.

When you are dribbling outside of the penalty box, slowly wait until the opponent defender try to block you infront of your path then quickly shoot the ball.

This is bcos normally the action of the goalkeeper will delay a bit cos he didn't see you shoot the ball.
