PES5 Master League Thread

Just thought I would start this thread sooner rather than later as everyone will have the game by now or in the next few days!

I am currently playing the game on 4* basically because I find this game really hard and I also like to see the transfer stars for a player to see the chances of signing him. I have selected Borussia Dortmund because my game is patched and I like their new kit. I have selected the default players which is the best way in my opinion.

Ok first of all I am using a 3-1-3-3! Its the first Formation in JMZ advanced formations thread and it was designed for PES3!

this is my team in cluding subs and players who is use if someone is injured or tired:

GK: Ivarov (always does nets as he rarely gets tired)
SW: Valeny (rarely gets tired but if he does he is replaced by Iouga)
CBR: Ceciu/Libberman
CBL: Stremer/Jaric
DM: Stein/Iouga
CMR:Espimas/Giersen
CML: Ruskin/Dodo
AM: Ximelez/Miranda/Hamsun
RWF: Macco/Fouque
LWF: Burchet/Huylens
CF: Castolo/Ordaz/Hamsun

So far I have played the first 5 league games and have won all five without conceding a goal but I have been very lucky on numerous occassions because 4 of my wins have been 1-0! I always try to play defensively because I find it hard playing against the computer even though its on 4* but I find that I don't create enough chances and then when I do get a chance i can rarely finish! Its very frustrating but if i go on the attack I usually get exposed down the wings due to my 3 defenders and the computer scores! I am struggling to find a consistent goal scorer because I have only scored 6 goals in 5 games and only castollo is is double figures with just 2 goals. In the transfer window coming up I think I might buy a few players off teams in my league! Vincent Kmopany has caught my eye playing for Anderlecht and there may be one or two others! Pierre Van Hoijdonk is scoring alot of goals at the minute and his club are in second only two points behind me in the league. I find it annoying that so far all my mathces have been against the bottom two or three clubs and still i am struggling to create chances and score goals. I will be looking out for some good free transfer soon. I am unsure if i should regulate condition? What exactly should i use it for? I have to change my line up every game due to fitigue which is annoying! Now that I am getting used to clean sheets it is very annoying when I nearly concede because sometimes my defence just switches off and misses the obvious. I can't wait till JMZ comes up with some awesome PES5 formations because I think my master league team needs a better one! I hope I can wins games more easily and convert more chances after the transfer window if i can get someone in!

Same Problem

I was doing a master league with Rangers but I was using the match mode players and got the same problem i was playin a 3-4-1-2 and found out that with no defenders on the wings the computer plays alot of through balls to thier wigners thus exposing my 3 man defence. I also found myself creating less chances and when I did create a good chance 5 times out of 10 I would miss it but when it got to the negiotations I failed to attract any players what so ever so I gave up on my Rangers master league and started one with Barcelona which I feel is really helping me get used to the game more and when I get good chances either Eto'o or Ronaldinho will put them away so I would say try a master league with a good team using match mode then try again with you'r current team

I understand what your saying but for me it has to be the default team! I hope the advanced formations thread gets updated soon as I would like a better formation and I think JMZ is the master at finding awesome formations!

I know it sounds stupid but i decided to change my formation to JMZ 2-6-2 and I won my home leg of the first round of the Div2 Cup! I still only managed to win the game 1-0 but I hit the post numerous times and had 16 shots on goal! Then came the big crunch game with NAC Breda who were just 3 points behind me in the league! I dominated the match in terms of chances but and I took the lead early on through a penalty scored by ordaz. Then before the 2nd half ended Castolo made it 2-0! Then I just sat back and was happy to defend in the second half! They couldn't brak down my defence but eventually a moment of magic from Van Hooijdonk made us concede our first goal of the season! He was way outside my box and the ball was played to him from the halfway line and he had his back to goal, I had 2 defneders pressuring him but he managed to put an overhead kick right perfectly into the bottom corner from about 25m! The rest of the game was tense but we held out for the win! I was more impressed by Van Hooijdonk than by transfer target Vonlanthen but we will have to wait for the upcoming transfer window and then make decisions on transfers.

listen to my pro .... iam now in the last half of my 5th season
i all most try every formation in this game if you want win by a lot of goals try to play 3-2-2-1-2 (( dmf cmf two smf one SS two cf )) but you will take one or two goalin a lot of games

if you want THE BEST FORMATION EVER try 3-5-2 its allmost like the first formation but change the SS and make him AMF and chenge the SMF's to WB

you will never lost in the middle and you have a lot of ways to attack from wings and middle and from shooting by your CMF

I play 15min matches! I am flying in the league and through to the 2nd stage of the cup after a few more 1-0 wins and I have reached the first transfer window! I am 8 points clear at the top now and have a fair bit of cash to spend as I have maintained my 100% win record in all competitions! I feel that I need to strengthen every area especially the mid-field and attack! The defence is ok as we have only conceded 1 goal in 10 games in all competitions and that was a very special effort from the leagues top goalscorer. I will maybe try some of the formations above but at the minute I am happy using JMZ 2-6-2 as I am creating at least 10 shots per game and I always play with a blue or green bar so that my team think defensively so i can only imagine how many more shots i would have if i had it at orange or red! Even though there are only two at the back in this formation, i am actually exposed down the wings alot less compared to the 3-1-3-3 that I had been using because in the 2-6-2 their are to wide players who sit just a little behind the halfway line and they can bomb forward for the attack but they can also rush back to help the defence! Any suggestions of good players who are buyable in this first transfer window of division 2? I only know 2 players who are in the same division as me that I would like and that is Jonathan Vonlanthen and Vicent Kompany! I had though about maybe bringing in Van Hooijdonk on a short term contract as he has scored 7 goals in 8 league games but i think that he might be too old and mprobably too expensive! I would like to try to get some class youngster or players who are from 16-28 that are quality but playing for low ranked teams! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Wow you are all doing really well

well heres my master leauge story
im playing on 6 stars and the 1st half of the season was pretty good
im tied for 4th im playin liverpool by the way the gap from 1st to 4th aint that big.

in the first half of my season i was playing in a 4-4-1-1 formation with humsum as the one leading the line and either minanda or fouque as SS
and i was doing pretty well and creating lots of chances espescially down the wings my left winger (ximelez) leads the leauge in assists with 3
and my right wing sometimes cuts inside just like luis garcia.
during the 1st half of my season i really felt that the team was balanced
and i was playing free flowing football, thats pretty good for a division 2 side. then came the transfer window and i was touting my good players to other clubs some offers came, it came for minanda they offered fritz(bayer leverkuse) + some cash and i accepted since minanda isnt getting any younger. and arsenal came in for ximelez with an offer i could not refuse, they offered flamini + cash and i accepted, especially when i have a midfield of dodo(who is absolute shite by the way) and the reasonable iouga and stein.
then i splashed a trade deal for jouaquin!!! and i got him

but at the start of the second season, i have been playing like crap and it feels i lost the balance i once felt and the free flowing football stopped i wonder what happened!, is there a teamwork stat somewhere? cause my team is looking dismal at the moment, and with jouaqin on the team i tend to rely on him more.....which effectively destroys my team game

and does the computer learn from the past games you played against them? cause they seem like they are adapting or am i just imagining things...

and should i have spent cash on the back four instead? cause i have been leaking in goals , left right and center with these turtle like centerbacks and sidebacks who have the positional sense of a traore/josemi lol

but i still love my liverpool, i just wish i had a loan deal done with fowler for the short term and had jamie carragher, xabi and stevie but i guess that will have to wait

I'm disappointed that Vorlander, Cellini and co. are gone, but I suppose they had to move on some time.

Good to see Castello, Miranda and some of my favourites still there.

Can anyone give me a full list of players which are gone and who has replaced them?

in my first season i played with the same formation like you i won every thing .. but in my second season i feel like my players is VERY LOST and my attacker is suffering
just try to make it 4-1-2-1-2 (( DMF , 2X SMF 1X AMF )) it will give you a lot of chooses in the attack and give you a good balance (( if you have a tall DMF 178-185 is so good ))

if you want my advice in the transfer window try to buy good SB's (( speed , balance , stamina ))

i just finished my 5 season .. i have a good winning streak but its all because of my GREAT SB,s (( Mathew - Argu - Serigo Ramos - Gambino - Fisher )) they allways give a good passes for my SMF's and good throw to my attackers

well atleast you had a good 1st season hehe, i only experienced half of a good season then it all went downhill =(.
its pretty hard catchin up with the top 2 teams when they always win and the only chance of closing the gap is beating them, but instead of beating them i often draw lol. and i wouldnt want to spend 2 seasons on division two. so i always start over, cause i cant live with the fact that my transfer targets will be older next season(and they got no clubs!, since im playing as liverpool almost all real liverpool players are in limbo! and i wouldnt want to waste another year without them lol)

Try playing it on 5* with the default master league squad.

How come you can only get D1 leagues with teams exclusively from one nation eg. england, holland and germany, italy and then the other teams?

Can you not mix them up and choose the teams you want yourself?

Finally I av got past the first transfer window! I bought these players:
GK:Kameni
CB:Kompany
CB:Lugano
LWF: Downing
RWF: Vonlanthen
CF: Podolski (on loan till the end of the season)

Even though I have added these quality players I am still struggling to convert chances and still winning most of my matches 1-0. I have won the league with 4 games to go as I am 13 points clear! I have won the first leg of the cup semi-final 3-2 but i am very unhappy about conceding 2 goals in the one match especially as now the team has conceded two away goals! I have conceded 5 goals in 15 games in all competitions which i think is very good and it has definately helped us win the league so early! I hope I can get alot of transfers in the summer transfer window because if i am struggling to win games in div2 then i am really gonna struggle in div1! I cant seem to find free transfers! I went into search groups and then non-affilated but there was no results!

You have to wait until the end of the season before any of the free transfers come up, because thats when they are released from their contracts.
