pes5[PC] How can I actually tell how good is my connection?

The green colour connection means nothing when I tried to play online. For example, when I played online last night, I created a room, and someone joined in to have a match, I asked my opponent that what colour my connection is and he said it was green. But just in the start of the first half that I hosted, he said that it was heavily lapping and then disconnected. I did not even played it for 1 mins.

The thing is I did not cheat, but it might be the problem that I am using a router to share a broadband with other people, they might downloading somthing when I was playing.

However, the problem is that if my connection is not fast enough at that moment because my housemates are downloading things, then why it will still come up as a green colour connection to my opponent, I just want to make sure my connection is good before I started the game so I can totally enjoy it.

So is there any way to test how good is the currently connection?

what is your download speed???

make sure you dont download anything while you're playing.. otherwise he would lagg his ass out of the game.. also.. if he was playing from halfway across the world.. he would definetally lag. and there is no stopping it

i would believe it would go like this for normal ADSL.. well in Australia that is..

Download Speed/Upload Speed
256K/64K
512K/128K
1500K/256K
ADSL2+(Variable Speeds)/1000K

Henryhe, try going to www.beelinebandwidthtest.com, you can test the speed of your connection here as many times as you want, tells you your actual speed rather than the maximum speed achievable (which is what your ISP will sell you).

Hope this helps?

I think that in future online PES games it should be widened from just the 4 levels of connection i.e. nothing, red, yellow and green and instead should be given as a percentage, this way it may help with better compatibility with other players.

Thanks for your guys replies, I have used both websites to test my connection speed and the result is:

www.beelinebandwidthtest.com: Average 200K
http://speedcheck.ispconnect.co.uk: 256.00 Mbps

It seems my connection is fine and I played this morning everything was fine until I just met a guy, I was leading 2:0 until 88 mins and a heavily lapping came up, so in 89 mins he scored 1 goal. Guess what happen then? The time is back to 50 mins, and then after an unseeable lapping the connection was finally lost.

My opponent hosted the 2nd half and I am not sure if he cheated or not, but since then my connection seems turn to very slow(only in the game). What happen? Is it posible that if someone cheats and it effect to my connection?

Like I said in my earlier post, turn off your firewall or antivirus protection before using this speedchecker.

That's why you're seeing 256.00 Mbps instead of 256.00 Kbps.

ok, I disabled my Norton Internet Security and I still got the result:

http://speedcheck.ispconnect.co.uk : 1.48M

But the game is still lapping for somebody else when I host the game now. As what i mentioned before, it seems to happen after someone cheated and disconnected from my game.

My Norton cannot find any vrius. May be it just the problem with the konami server.

256k is not enough for me to play CSS online =/.

yes also i agree with turning off your firewall. it really conflicts with pes5 =/
