If you add a power bar then it will become to easy. As soon as you find out the perfect amount of power you need to a score a goal, all penalties will be unstoppable.

You should be able to have a choice to do it though, like control your run up with the pad!

ahhh i think a gud idea wud be to use the analogue stick to score ur penalties by swingin it, if ne one has played tiger woods golf they wud get wat i mean
that way u actually put sum effort to score them, but in terms of keeper im a bit stumped on wat they cud do to improve that

Yeh he has it but its pathetic as he doesnt even stop or stumble or anything, he just sort of slows down and leans forward a lil' bit, looks stupid though.....They should have an actual fake run up where the player stops right before they kick it, or in Figo's case he stops twice before he hits it.

i thought thats not allowed tho?? i thought its gotta be one run to the ball thats why he can slow down cos thats changing speed but he is not allowed to actually come to a stop,
so if he wanted he cud run behind the goal and then run bak to the spot and blast it in as long as he doesnt stop haha i think

You are right - actually stopping is not allowed.

What is the ability best suited for a penalty taker - is it shot accuracy or possibly free kick accuracy ? I normally use my player with the best shooting accuracy

Yep it is illegal in footy to stop, but players like C.Ronaldo, Figo and Viduka done it a couple of times-they actually do pasue for a split second...Figo stops twice though, In PES4 it doesnt even look like hes stopped and Figo just bends over a bit, it doesnt look a tad bit close to the way he does it in real life....

I usually let players who have reasonably decent arrows for that game hit them, or if they all have arrows pointing up the way then I choose it by shot accuracy!

It would actually be quite good if you used the analogue stick to be able to move the goalie off the line a wee bit. It would most definetly have to be a feature in future games, using the intelligence of the cell, but if moving off your line made it easier to save, but say you only got away with it 1/100 times. I guess we're probably talking PES10 til we get stuff like that though.

Although the penalties are poor in PES4 I think everything suggested, such as dink penalties and changing run ups would just make it worse. It doesnt need over-complicating, it is at the end of the day a simple one on one, left or right style thing.

why cant we have replays on penalty shootouts, or different camera angles, thats what i want also in pes5.

dont u just hate the new skysports angles (well, since like 2003) for penalties, its just like pes angles, i dont like it, i want longview.

There are 5 types of penalty kicks. 3 off PES4, a jump before the run up leading to a powerful, and i cant remember the other.

It seems to that the CPU hits it down the middel too much

Agree,maybe the keeper should be able to move across the line but if there was a button to chip the ball on pens everyone would use it and it would get silly because they rarely do it in real life let alone PES!

having a power bar would be to obvious to another human player if you were playing a mate.

i reckon they should have the circle button to blast the ball in, the 'x' button to place the ball and the square button to dink the ball in. the blasted penalties should be the least accurate through to the dinked ones which are most accurate.

the dudek idea would also be gud too.

i didnt notice any changes in PK in WE9. still cpu hits most shots in center, u can move your golie, no power bar... its still same thing...

golie should be able to move but only on the line (left or right). as almost all of u said: PK r too unfair but from other point of view... PK was never fair
