PES6 Info, Licenses + More

The Boss
This info is now a week old nearly, but evidently I am the only admin who can be arsed to post news and I've been away camping. If anyone else wants to help out with posting news feel free to get in touch.

Anywho, to summarise the information which has been released in the past week:

- Manchester United will be licensed, along with the entire top flight of the French league (all licensed teams can be seen here)
- 8-way online play on PS2
- Lag issue is apparantly sorted
- Next-gen PES is exclusive to Microsoft for this year... this means nothing really as we already knew we were not going to see a PS3 version until PES7

Manyoo would have been expensive license wise I reckon also the French because of TV rights wouldn't have come cheap so well done Konami.

the next-gen exclusive to microsoft for a year is not true apparantly, seabass says the ps3 version will be spring/summer next year. microsoft made that up lol

The exclusivity deal was not "for a year" but "for the rest of the year". So no pes6 on ps3 untill next year. Which we already knew.

You will still be able to play pes6 (ps2) on your ps3 though :)

Number of teams is still stupid. Someone please give a valid response to this.

Why ever take teams out? No-one has ever answered me on this point even though I've made it often enough. How can they not just have as many teams as in FIFA? There can't be too much problem with data space, team data need take up next to no information, particularly unlicensed teams. Same with national teams, why not just put them all in? It makes no sense at all to do anything other than broaden the scope. I'm sure people would buy PES more if it had more teams in. Why not have the top 2 divisions from all of the big footbal countries? I know that player names etc is an issue, but again, with compression these days, its stupid to argue that its a capacity issue. Any worthwhile platform can take DVD capacities, and those that can't should just get a more stripped down version.

Maybe they don't sell enough copies in those regions where the teams are located to feel that they need to keep those teams in the game. Other than that, f*#k if I know.

I thought the FA extended the exclusive rights to EA again, so that Konami can only ever have two english teams licensed at once? I'm sure thats waht people said it was.

Hmm... From the sounds of this article, which tried to resolve all the confusion, Europe won't see a PS3 version of Pro Evo for 12 months. However, Winning Eleven could be released for PS3 in Japan before 12 months; most likely Spring 2007.

"Xbox 360 is European Home to Next-Gen Soccer
Winning Eleven could still hit PS3 soon, however.

August 28, 2006 - The Xbox 360 will be the exclusive home of next-gen soccer for the next 12 months... in Europe.

Next-gen versions of FIFA 07 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 are coming to the Xbox 360 and not the PlayStation 3, as announced at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany last week. That is true.

It is important to note that "Pro Evolution Soccer 6" is Konami's soccer title for the European market. "Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer 2007," however, is Konami's title in North America and Japan. While the content is basically the same, the two titles are in fact separate. The 12-month exclusive deal pertains to PES 6 in Europe only.

In effect, Konami is free to publish a next-gen soccer title on the PlayStation 3 or Wii, well, as early as tomorrow, in any region outside of Europe.

PES6 producer Shingo "Seabass" Takatsuka told IGN at Leipzig that a PS3 version of the game is currently in development and could be released as early as spring 2007." (<--Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer 2007, PS3 Japan)

Like hitman said, no PES6 on PS3. The first PES on PS3 will be PES7, sometime next year.

PES7 won't be released I don't think until October next year on PS3 in Europe. But what we will probably see is a Winning Eleven PS3 game next spring/summer in Japan.

The all licensed teams list doesnt show France as being licensed, just thought i'd point that out. Shame about Shakhtar Donetsk being removed...
