PES6 - Your thoughts

Okay, I wasn't sure where this topic should go but since I am playing the PC version, I thought it may aswell go there. If the thread is done then apologies.

I am impressed by the improvements of PES6 from PES5. Last year, PES5 still had quite a few cons that annoyed a lot of people. Most notably the amount of fouls. The improvements this year have been great though. I feel as the shooting is better, more swerve on the ball. Since I have only started playing it, I haven't got use to the scoring but when I did, the goals were of good quality. Another con in PES5 of shooting is that when you are in the box diagonally running away from goal and press shoot, the player was more likely to hit the ball with the outside of his foot which making it rare for him to actually hit the target. I have already took similar shots in PES6 and the players actually try to swerve it round to the back post.

Keepers are more realistic with brilliant one handed saves. Dribbling and skills have improved. It is easier to dribble past someone, however this could also be a con depending how you look at it. Because it's easier to dribble past a defender, you have to think twice on closing the ball down with your defender and have to wait for the right moment.

As I said earlier about the fouls probably being the biggest con of PES5, this has improved alot in PES6. I don't think there has been more than 4 fouls per game I have played. Makes the game more enjoyable to play. Also, passing is more accurate, however they are weak and noticed that sometimes a long pass along the ground didn't get near my player. I can't really comment on any more of the game since I have only really played exhibition mode to get use to it. Hopefully I will be playing online soon once I have improved. I would like to know others views on PES6 about the improvements from PES5 and if you are overall pleased with the improvements. Also, if there is something you feel should have been added, please say.

One thing that I did not like about PES6 is that they have removed the Bundesliga (although Bayern Munich are in the 'others' section.) Although there is now an 'other c' section which about 18 teams that you create so you could possibly create the Bundesliga having to erase over other teams. This is also good for patching as you can add more teams without erasing over the 'others a' section.

Overall, I am pleased with PES6 improvements and now await my brother coming up from London tomorrow give him a good hammerin'. :)

yup...numerous improvements overall a much better game than PES5 which by the end was about as much fun as digging holes in roads.

But mark my words....the goals just fly in far too easily on PES6...u dont even have to try very hard.....just shooting generally is enough to get a goal.

7/10

My thoughts after playing a couple of matches online and offline.

I was spectating an online match and I noticed it seems very easy to dribble pass the goalkeeper. Also in training I noticed it and playing an online match too. Dunno just seemed a bit to easy.

Online server "lag" is still there. Switching rooms ect can take a while.
Also hard to find players with decent pings. Played 5 matches that lagged way to much and also 2 games got disconnected (dunno if it had anything to do with I was ahead in the 2 matches that got disconnected).

Hopefully I get used to, as it seems like theres a lot of more space for players on the field. In pes5 a player of the other team normally would be pretty close to the opponent that recieves the ball. In pes6 i got a hard time to close the holes and my players seems to run confused around.
Maybe it just me, but a different playstyles overall in pes6 so it will take a while to get used to.

I like the fast free kick and goalkeeper seems to be faster and more willing to throw the ball to a player.
Its Possible to make longer throwin, hated it in pes5 where most of the time it only went a few meters.

Edit: seems like the Lag in the online menu i taken care of now. Big Problem Friday night.

I really hate the PC version of PES6.

The game is to diffrent from the PS2 version in the PS2 version the game run smoothly, its easy to dribble... in the PC version you can dribble like in the PS2 - you can run to the ball when you recieve a pass... !!

I really hate that the dribble, running though to the balls... and the pass is damm slow to the PC .. when it is so much better so the PS2 !!

And its not because my PC is som crappy old shit..
(amd 3800)
(7900gt)
(1024 ram)

So its because i think KONAMI really dont care about the PC gamers only about the consol gamers.. because i think the PC version stinks...

Delay fuck... :(

PES6 on PC is an imrproved version pf PES5 with many extra options on ML and Management. But I was dissappointed fromt eh point of view that teh 360 version is a totally new game. Very smart AI, very different in sense of graphics and playability. THe PC version is a great soccer sim just not much different to last year. I wish for one they just make this game full wide mode on the PC as well. I hate the short fat looking people on teh wide mode and even more windowing it so that it looks right. BUT I am still addicted. I have played over 5000 games since 1988, this one is my favourite. Do you guys think I hold some kind of record or has someone played more :)?

Lodmixer for pes6 have real Widescreen support so you can see more of the field and the aspect ratio works fine on a widescreen, so you players dont seem fat anymore
