Fifa 08 was a good game of footy , enjoyed it but never felt passionate enough to go over to fifa forums to post stuff

Why post in the fifa forum? whats there to talk about to get passionate about?

Cant talk about what player you like because theres only two types either they are fast/slow , good shot/bad shot

Cant talk about real tactics and formations because in fifa the A.I isnt good enough to mimic real footy

So they come here to talk crap about how good their footy game looks and if they were pes fans beforehand to get angry that we still haven't seen the truly next gen graphics we were promised with the rendered screen shot of Adriano years ago

Well maybe its time to change the name of the site then. And to say pes has been in reverse to 5 years is bullshit. Are you saying pes 3,4 and 5 were backward games?

PES3 was the most balanced game with least exploits...

PES4 was leaky arcade bullshit...

PES5 tightened up the leaks and was much harder to get goals on. but all this meant was that the only sensible way to play the game was to go for exploit goals. Scripting AI was increasingly apparent in this game more so than in previous iterations.

PES6 Downhill....Out of ideas, same old shit, tweaked AI engine blatant 'Gameplay Momentum Engine (Scripting) interfering with game to the point where a total noob could beat a veteran just as a result of 'luck'

PES2008 Laughable disaster. But everyone knows Konami released an unfinished product.

PES2009 Demo is very good fun and many improvements have been made albeit with the game still running essentially on the same old game engine with the same old aggravating flaws.

I always thought PES5 was better than PES6 -but- the Consistent Fouls every time you Touched someone, I think it ruined what otherwise would've been a great game.

PES6 on the other hand, was more Fluid -but- it offered too many ways of scoring goals.

Anyways, Would you say PES09 is better than PES6?? Is it as good as PES5?

I agree with PES5 being the best version to date.

PES2008 wasn't that bad IMO, and was definitely the second best version after PES5.

You can't really answer whether PES09 will be as good or even better as PES5 until you play it yourself, because it's down to personal opinion.

We all wont really see how good it is until we get to play against the poorer sides in the game

In the demo you always play against top sides and dont get a chance to see how the wee teams hold up to constant pressure and how the A.I is going to adjust to it just hope it doesn't all fall apart with easy goals

youreself?

I was under the impression this was a pes website for people who want to talk about the game but its starting to be overun by fifa lovers. Now if people like fifa and not pes
thats ok with me because its all about taste. For over 10 years konami have been the undisputed kings of football games and after 1 bad game people are going on like its the end of the world.I tried the fifa demo and i did not like it so i will be sticking with pes again. And it really pisses me off the way some people are going on about pes2009 when they decided after a few games its awful.Like anything new you have to give it time and then make your judgements. And imo the more you play the better it gets.So please stop trying to preech the word of fifa all the time because its bloody boring.

u played the fifa demo and dont like it so wont buy, it took me a few days of fifa to get inot it and now i love it.

If you gave FIFA a chance you would see it's actually a very good game. PES has become too arcadey & hasn't moved on from it's PS2 days.
Last years was very arcadey, pes 2009 looks very different to me. I do know that graphically this year it also looks pretty good, but yes konami need to go next gen for the next release.

IMO, PES6 was utter garbage they had either run out of ideas or just couldnt be bothered anymore. In PES6, the AI had far too much of a sway on how the game would go. On PES 5 the scripting was bad....but on PES6 it was just ludicrous. Like I said, a total noob could beat a ProEv vet depending on who the AI was 'supporting'.

i hated that game.

PES2008 was a non runner and basically should be considered a beta version that they charged everyone 30-40 for. End of Story.

PES2009 is looking more promising (despite the lack of real progression), but as always judgement cannot be passed until the game is released and sampled thoroughly in 2 player mode.

From playing single player, I am quite liking the way the AI floods the penalty area with players whenever u get near the traditional magic spots for the notorious cut-backs n lay-offs. Perhaps finally, they really have taken adequate measures to remediate this game destroying flaw.

Yeah, PES6 is full of flaws if you play it long enough.. I can basically score a Goal whenever I feel like it -and- like you said, in 1 vs 1 -the- Cheating AI usually decides the Outcome of the match for you, wich sucks.

But PES6 did have some Positive aspects to it.

Anyways, I forgot to ask, the Dribbling Controls where Switched to the Left Stick.. Has this "fixed" the annoying Cut Backs??

I've read How some players who used to Turn inside of the Goal Area end up doing 360ª spins, consequently loosing possession.. If this is true, then I think it will be better -maybe- we won't see Cut Back Goals that often.

I will reserve judgement until i have played the full release for a few weeks with plenty of 2 player games under my belt.

But I am hoping the fact that the AI now packs out the penalty area with defenders automatically whenever attacker gets forward will greatly reduce the feasibility of playing only for cut backs and/or holding up the ball dribbling it around inside penalty area until easy goal chance occurs. Also, hold the ball up to long in the danger areas and your passing goes all wrong I am finding. Whilst this is kind of lame it is certainly preferable to holding the ball up for ages and your pass going right to team mates feet for open goal.

I am hoping that now when u get forward, u have to be quick to take your chance or the chance will be lost. This is how it seems to me so far....but like I say.....judgement reserved until at least 20 hours 2 player action.
