Everyone plays as the team they like best.
As some play worse using teams they're not used to.
France are a popular choice.

So are you coming down to prove your point, smith?

PESTAL? What excactly is that?

Hi I am new to these forums as you may have guessed! (look at amount of posts ;) )
<--------------------------------------------------------------------

I was wondering could you tell me a few more details about this event? i.e. How many people enter normally? And what excactly is PESTAL? Is anyone from these forums entering?

Thanks,

There are usually between 15-25 players entering and it's run on 3 or 4 PS2s.

Players play exhibition matches in a group stage before going through to knockouts and finals.

The standard is quite high. I've been to a few and there is a good atmostphere. I would recommend you come down to check it out.
If you need more info, it'd be best to email [email protected]

Cool.

I will definetely come down to one of those tournaments, it sounds as those its quite fun.

Any ideas on how much i would cost to get there? From Essex?

What do you win?:D

Based on the numbers entering, there are money prizes for the top three finishers. The champ, the finalist and the winner of the 3rd/4th place playoff.

I think there is a train to and from Fenchurch Street station from the east as far as Southend. From Fenchurch it is less than 45 mins on the tube. Does that help?

I enjoy these tournaments very much and would recommend pesfans to get down there you just dont know what you are missing! I would say good thing about it is that it takes place every 2 weeks and in the two weeks you always take time to get ready for the next tournament. IMO it is a great event but you need to come down to know what I am talking about:D

LOL! that aint nice I enjoy playing against him I always learn something new when I play him I personally think that he is the best player I have played against no offence Zig but my personall record against him is not that bad. Would it be alright if I came round to yours to practice or something though:D I think I need it I havent made the 1/4 finals for 2 tournaments in a row which is scary:D

Yeah, he's a decent bloke but he wins too much!
I beat him in a warm up match 3-2 after 'letting' him take a 2-0 lead. But he beat me 2-1 in the group after a defensive mistake gifted him a goal in the last seconds of the match!
Gutted.

Yeah if you want to practice, that is cool. Practice is always good.
Let me know when is good.

Hello again!

Can someone tell me, what camera angle is used in the tournament, or is it agreed by the 2 players playing before every match???

Thanks :D

Yes it is agreed.
Or if there is a difference, you play one half with each which is fair.

Most common are wide and long, used by 90% followed by intermediate.

4th May tournament postponed!

It is a disappointment for me to say that the tournament scheduled for May 4th 2003 has been postponed by a further 2 weeks and will now take place on May 18th 2003. Subsequently, the remaining dates on the calendar will be put back by 2 weeks and so the calendar looks as follows:

Season Calendar-Dates
Multiplayer Challenge(18-May)
The Doubles(1-Jun)
The Intercontinental Challenge(15-Jun)
The Eliminator(6-Jul)
PESTAL Internationals(20-Jul)
The PESTAL League(3-Aug)
The PESTAL League(17-Aug)
The PESTAL League(31-Aug)
The Tag Team Challenge(7-Sep)
The Major(21-Sep)
The PESTAL Masters(5-Oct)

So look forward to seeing you pesfans on the 18th May for some doubles competition:D
