I'd just like to say I appreciate the anti-racist stances on this post, and i highly disapprove of the racist bogotry displayed by a minority. It's good to see that not all football fans besides myself match the racist stereotype.

I couldnt agree more, we need to stamp racism out of this board

you are all mean bully's

TBH I do not think that you are a racist, I am however convinced that you are an idiot, you obviously thought that your original statement was inocent and byways acceptable. I hope that you have learnt something about yourself from this thread.

I think that you would of chosen someone like woodgate if you was a true racist, not ronaldo, whichever one you are supporting, as both are none white. it is of course an assumption that you yourself are white.

As Red says, I think the problem is the naivety with which you thought it acceptable to describe Korean/Japanese Konami employees as "yellow bastards"... It's really not. I can think of worse things you could have said, but still. The fact that you felt the need to add what you deem to be their skin colour at all suggests that the observation is derisory, ie, racist.

I think, as is often the case, we jus have to accept the fact we're fightin a losin battle as no one really seems to care about racism and prefers to pretend not to hear it until it actually affects them. Altho this is jus a forum its actually alot like many football grounds up and down the country, people hear the racist chants but decide not to tell officials and take action against it, altho these people aren't really doin anythin wrong they sure aren't helpin to kick racism out of the game (however i bet they probably do wear the "fashionable" wristband! lol)

No mate we do not have to accept it, but we do have to accept that it is an up
hill battle and progress is and will always be slow, but please, we DO NOT have to accept that we will lose, we just keep bringing it to light when it is required.

Only the mods have turned a blind eye everybody else has said it was wrong, I find that encouraging, and pleased to be apart of this community.

Just to note, the best thing about being in south america is that foxsports broadcasts 5 or 6 live games a week, however as we are talking about racism it is unbeliveable the level of racism allowed in the commentry, EG Ledley King is often reffered to as Ledley King-cong, every black person is reffered to as the "negro" or "moreano" then name, I mean could you imagine Ron Atkinson coming out with something like that, oh wait, no need to imagine...at least he apologised and was punished for it! I will be writing to FIFA about it as this sort of commentry breeds racism. At the grounds it is unreal, the irony is that these people are quite darked skin yet call any black man "negro" in a derogative manner as if they were whiter than snow.

Red mate, i find this incredible, thanks for sharing it... it is no wonder we still have such racial issues in football.

I wish I didn't have to mate but it is bad here and something as to be done. Everybody plays football, every race and creed in the world (that are aware of the game), it truly is for everyone!

Having read his comments (original and edited) I'd like to support ronaldo. If he says he was misunderstood then I think we should believe him. Going round accusing everyone of being a racist doesn't help anyone. One of the good things about the internet is that people can't be judged on their looks (sex, colour, attractiveness, age, etc.). We shouldn't be searching to find people who may or may not be racist. Personally, I don't expect to find racism and if someone makes a comment that could appear racist I would rather believe that it is innocent. If you look for racism you will find it - just like anything else. People read what they want to read. We should villify anyone who is blatantly racist and not look to turn on those who (claim) to be misunderstood. Not being racist is not about discovering and outcasting racists but simply ignoring any difference between people of different skin colours.

Bit deep this for a forum about pro innit?!?

This thread is DEAD. Someone close it before it decends into a mindless argument about very little, again.
