Play Master League with the Default Team ONLY!

Administrator
I'm going to start this on Monday or Tuesday.

Play your way through the Master League using only the default team players. Let's see how easy or hard it is. I know some people like to write match reports and little stories. Would be cool to see some of that. Have a go at the challenge yourself. Maybe some of us will experience relegation for the first time ever!

I'm playing it on 5*, ten minute matches. No transfers allowed.
The Cup runs will be so important now!
We'll see how it goes. My intention is to do well in Division 1.
I think I'll use Zoidberg's option file and play amongst Premiership teams :)

Anyone care to come up with some predictions?

i tryed it on pes2 on extreme mode. got to Div 1 (there were 3 divisions remember) but got relegated again after the first season.
i don't think 5* on pes3 is as hard as extreme mode so i think you'll finish 4th in div 1 and qualify for the wefa championships.

I tried doing the "Default Challenge" a few weeks ago.
5*, 15min games (10 mins is too short for me), cheat prevention, no transfers, accumulated fatigue.
....It doesn't help that the default teams stamina stats are shite.
The whole team's knackered after a few games, subs included. Needless to say, I gave up after about 7 or 8 games. I think I won 2, drew 4 & lost 2.
Don't do it, it CAUSES HIGH LEVELS OF STRESS!!!!! AAGHHH!!!!!

I find i draw almost all my games 0-0 if i try to do the whole thing with the default team, its just too hard to score. i reckon you'll win the div2 cup though.

Yes, yes that would be cool. This was the precise reason I suggested a story forum, you see. ;)

Good challenge though Zyg - I think I'll join you in it. I'm bored of my other two MLs as they're too easy - and I miss Castello (yes, Castello, not Castolo, he's a poof).

Might be an idea to start with a weak-ish team, so as not to eliminate one of the potential challengers to your Division 1 title-hopes.

Got to division 1 but ...

I tried this with 5* and fatigure on. I set the transfer mode to "on" in case I get tired of it. Played with Manchester United in the Spanish La Liga. Anyway, Castolo and Huylens were extremely good at scoring! I managed to win 3 games, and draw about 6. Then I bought Van Nisterooy, hoping to win the champion of div. 2. But surprisingly, he is not as useful as Castolo, probably due to the low temwork stats. I eveually got to division 1, but with 3 transfered players (Van Nisterooy, Batistuta and Kapo). I don't think I can get to div 1 without transfers.

Earlier I played the extreme mode in WE6. I managed to survive one season, bought a few good but cheap players like Donovan. By the time I started div. 3 for the second time, my funds were reduced to like 200. I lost after a few games.

Zyg, you have seriously lost your mind. I don't think I could handle the pressure of every damn game on the edge of your seat scrapping for a one-nil win. I can usually hold teams from scoring, but getting goals with the default squad is hard for me. In my first season on ML I played a 4-5-1, with a speedy forward[Diouf]. I can't imagine trying to score an adequate amount of goals over the whole season, with the default forwards.

You're a sick, sick man.

I once got out of div2 with the crap players, but I got bored because it is sooooo frustrating that you can't play exciting football really. Maybe after I have won the master league on WE7:IJ.

but dun anyone feels that the default team gels with one another better(sort of)?? everytime i bring in a new player i will tends to 'overuse' him, resulting in quite lousy performances....
Personally i feel:
Miranda is the best in the squad....
Ximenes, Espinas and Castello are not bad though...
Kelsen is a much better goalie than Ivanov....

Any comments??

Zyg, which game? PES3 or WE7:IJ?

I think I'll try it with PES3 for now, using Zoidberg's premiership option file.
Not sure I can cope with all the 99s of the WE7IJ option file

kold_77_krush, cheers for that mate :p
Might sound sick but I'll have a go at it.
Might make some of us appreciate the all-star players a bit more

I'll play a couple of match tonight.

I'm going to have a got at this aswell in about 30mins ;) I@m bored with my other game (in second season in division 1 and just won 5-0 and 7-0 in my first to games on 5*) Also this is my first time with fatigue one cos i've been told its very unrealistic....

Right well I thought I'd take up the challenge. The first season went well. I won the league and finished runners-up (gutted) in the cup, playing the original players in a 3-4-3 with all out attack.

My league record was P14 W10 D4 L0 GF25 GA4.
Barota top scored with 10.

But something tells me it's gonna get a lot harder after this...

im gonna have a go at this, but gonna modify it :)

in the process of creating a team in edit mode for WE United, basically just doing base copies of the default team and giving them suitably average english names, giving them ok stamina so they can actually last and making one star player maybe a winger with ok stats to make it realistic

Started it today on PES3. I chose to play as Everton.

First season in Div 2:
Won 6, lost 2 - curiously enough, I lost to the 2 bottom teams.
Scored 10 conceded 4.
18 points, 3 clear of Auxerre.

Won the first round of the cup, 3-0 and 0-0 against Fulham.

I've got 2 midfielders out on a yellow cross injury.
And a forward out with a red cross. 6 weeks out with a 'cut'.

Not sure what other details people want so that's it till the end of the season. Which should be sometime tomorrow. Player stamina and fatigue is a major b**ch to have to deal with.

Sounds good Zyg. How did you manage to get so many injuries? I only had one in the whole of the 1st season. Are you knackering the players out too much? Easily done mind you...

I won the playoffs, winning 1 and drawing 2 games and have got off to a flyer in the 1st div. I'm sitting top of the league after winning my first 2 games - including a 4-1 demolition of Madrid! I think fatigue will wreck my season soon enough tho. Might play again later as I clearly have too much time on my hands...
