i have to say its got better over last years poor attempt. but its still not brilliant despite the tremendous graphics and improved gameplay.

the gameplay still feels a little clunky and unresponsive and you dont have full control of the players movements at times.the shooting is still not as good as winning eleven on the ps2 either.the ball moves unrealistically through the air, this is mostly the long range shooting im complaining about here. the close range shooting is pretty ok.

players animations are much better and they feel a little like there real life counterparts, but still not as good as we10. on we10 if the ball fell to gerrard 30 yards out and u hit that shoot button perfectly and the ball rockets towards the top corner, you KNOW how perfect it feels, or when you are running down the wing with messi and he is jinking inside and out to perfection knowing you have full control of his movements. it just doenst happen in pes2010 as most players feel pretty much the same as each other. just being brutally honest guys.

its fun to play but i just cant find it in my heart to play this game when i know we10 is better in every department gameplay wise.

enjoyable game but its back to winning eleven 10 for me:crymore:

Hey I've got a non-mod xbox. What would I need to buy to play WE10? Or would I have to buy a Japanese xbox then get the game imported?

I also played the full game tonight and think it's a vast improvement on the demo (which i was fairly disappointed with) it's not perfect but i'd say it's better than 2009.

The gameplay is pretty much the same, with increased rotation - it doesnt feel at all like 360, more like 16 or 32angles instead of 8. As well as few more animations and an overall smoother feel.

Easy longshots are back (what OP said about the ball falling to gerrard 30 yards out, that's definately back in, about 3/4s power and its on the way to the top corner) but lobbing is still a bit pants. Passing is the same, but throughballs have more power, which can be good if defence is deep but a pain if your hitting it diagaonal. Defence seems a bit tighter, although i havent played enough to comment much. Freekicks and Corners are the same, except you can no longer set midfielders to go up for them, which is bullshit. Penalties are shit. Goalkeepers are the same. (shit)

Masterleague looks a lot better, much more input into training, transfers and finance. Ability to leave matches, training and transfers to the coach is useful. Especially if you cant be bothered to play every little league game.

Stats were disappointing, but to be expected i guess. Some players lack ability cards. The abilty cards work but sometimes too much. I had Drogba's "Chasing Back" ability on and he basically became a midfielder. Same thing with a defenders "extra attacker" ability.

Just played the game....

GK are horrible comming out for long passes... unbelievable how they didn't fix this since the demo!!!!

Through passes are shameful, because receiving players will run a pre-determined routes, most of the times not at full speed, and "super cancel" doesn't fix that anymore....

1st-touch passes (unless you multi-tap) and shots are almost completly gone...

This feels like an incomplete product!

It's really nice to hear these comments from you guys (dean7879 & Bite.Me), 'cause you've been members here since 2003 & 2004 respectively - which to me - confirm that you are not just FIFA fanboys coming here to bash on PES. IMO since you've both been members for so many years, it puts a bit more weight into your words, since one can assume, that you've stuck with the franchise for many years and "know what you talk about" when comparing to older versions of the game.
From what you've said, I still believe that I won't be getting neither PES nor FIFA this year. It's a great step in the right direction - but it's still not good enough...

You are just hoping for something that is never going to happen. When i read about player card and sliders it felt to me that you can create your own team and player style. It's very standard and it does not feel like you've made any major changes when you are playing. But there are changes and there is a difference without these team styles. So i doesn't mean im going to tell everybody the team styles in PES suck this year. No. I will tell them it's not what you expect of it but it's a great improvement.

You mean 1st touch shots are not on the final version?!
They weren't on the PES demo (or were extremely difficult to achieve). BUT I had no problem taking 1st touch shots in the WE 2010 demo. Did you play both demos? Can you say more about this?

Anyway, what seems I'll dislike the most is the fact defenses remain perfect throughout the entire length of the game, they never break. It's good that its not easy to score but player's fatigue should affect the team's performance. Thus creating many and different goal scoring opportunities.

thank you. yes ive been a fan of pro evo since it came out on the playstation 1. i wouldnt call myself a fanboy though. if fifa makes a better game i will say so without no bias.

its just frustrating that the pes games seem to be going backwards whereas fifa slowly but surely is moving forwards. i reckon pes2010 is still better than fifa 2010 though.

all konami have to do is use the game engine from the ps2. thats it problem solved.

but yes you hit the nail on the head when you said its a great step in the right direction but still not good enough

simply IF you liked /enjoyed 2009 , you will ove this to bits . but come on , i played the demo version and the gameplay has imporved much more than ! 2009.
some of the things that spoiled 2009 IE. henry, messi, ronaldo, who had great speed and skills could dash past the defence the like of cannavaro, marquez ,terry
and shoot , and 7o percent of the time it would be a goal.

ON the demo version i played, i was almost impossoble or very difficault to dash past, which is much better .
Also the passing has imporved , feels less arcady for me .And beleive me playing with pes2010 shows how arcady 2009 was.

Ok the goalkeeprs,, i cant really comment on , the shooting feels better, not the same old spots where its press square and hope for the best.

TBH people need to spend much more time with the game , .. pes takes time to sink in few games and you will know.

ive only spent about 7 matches on the demo version , and i already noticed the differences.

but thats my opinion ,maybe i just had a different gaming experiance,
or i played pes 2009 so much that i noticed the difference more.

all konami have to do is use the game engine from the ps2. thats it problem solved.

but yes you hit the nail on the head when you said its a great step in the right direction but still not good enough

exactly what they said on podcast ! , about the ps2 engine.

Konami made 09 08 very arcade like. its funny how some have said that pes2010 is better on other formats than the ps3 version.

and definelty konami are on the right track they need one more year.

when u say 1 touch shot.. do you mean a 1 timer or a first time shot.. or take a touch and then shoot?

What's the difference?

I mean passing to a player, and he shoots on 1st touch without trapping it 1st.

This is easy to do on air crosses, volleys are easy to slot in, but nearly impossible on low crosses.... they will always trap it 1st.

They will do it on normal passes and through passes though....

Thanks!
I've been playing PES since ISS Pro Evolution on the PS1....

The only PES I really didn't like was 2008.... all of the others you come to like them despite their flaws... and still I palyed 2008 until around May of the following year...

About 2010, I think that despite it's flaws it's still a PES, and as such as time goes on one will be accostumed to it and learn to enjoy the positives.
Especially people like me that only have PC.

Anyways, after playing a few more matches some of my concerns have been sorted out.

360 is in the game... despite my original report.
This was due to me playing with the d-pad (always did)... the problem is that to get access to the 360 (or at least 32) you have to play with the analog stick.
This will imply a major shift for many players like myself who had never played PES on the stick.

The through pass problem is a sub-derivate of the non-360 d-pad.. and as such is not so noticeable with the stick.... amazing how much it changes the gameplay.

Keepers coming out foolishly on long balls is definitely confirmed....
I had another play where the PC played a long ball which was going through the end line and my keeper instead of letting it go, decided to parry it towards the sideline and concede a throw in....

Another thing I don't like, but this is one of those things that probably can be sorted by adjusting my gameplay, is how difficult (read impossible) it is to hold the ball under pressure... especially with slow and low balance players... most of the times they will get tackled out of the ball.

first of all . the keepers comming out for a cross.. you can control this right by triangle?, i mean if you press triangle that automaticaly moves the keeper towards the cross. ? ive played the demo version i didnt notice keepers comming out without command. the keeper stays put .. but i havent played the full version. so maybe i missed it.

secondly , fifa 10 has the same thing, i notcied i couldnt hold the ball that long under pressure either. You could easily do that on pes2009 , hence why players with good dribbling could basically do anything under pressure. Which im glad is gone on pes2010. you just have to pay a tactical passing game.

but seriously on pes2009 it was soo freakin annoying when someone like henry , couldnt be tackeld by 3 defenders while pressuring him , and holding the ball. same with the more built players,

sorry to go on , but its only on pes 09 and 08 i noticed how players with good speed and dribble were almost untouchable, hence its arcadiness.

lies... Shaun7 will be along soon to explain how great this incarnation is - and how the final build will magically 'tweak' its way to victory

oh it IS the final build and it still has lots of the flaws:/

When I talk about GKs being bad at coming out for long passes this is what I mean:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWvmFUrCy4w

It has happened to me (variations of it) 3 times so far in the full game.

Soz mate i thought you were on about the basic cross from the flag. into the box.

Hasnt happend to me yet, but youve probably played more than me .

that seems worse than i imagined. if that happens alot then its going to be a bitch , which konami need to patch.

thats basicaly a glitch for an open goal !

i had problems with last defender doing that on the last game and missing the ball completly and letting it fall to the striker who simply goes through.

2 of the times were on the same game... a Inter-Juve... which i lost 1-2 because of those 2 mistakes...

But I must say that besides that bug, GKs are pretty good!
Those poor goals we had on the demo are seen no more.
Deflection goals still occur, but at a much less frequent rate.

I just played a England-Italy and I must say Buffon is a really top notch keeper!
Some impressive saves he pulled!

I've not yet messed around with tactics on the full game, just experiencing the basics.... but I have to say most games I played so far were pretty midfield-less....
Plenty of attack counter-attack stuff.
