Player Loyalty - Broken Heart

Does anyone know how to get player loyalty back up on a player whose heart icon is empty and broken?

His form is always now 'purple down arrow' and no matter how much I play him he still hates my guts!

There is nothing in the in-game help or in the manual ....that I can find.

Why is your player heart broken? i put a player on the transfer list and he is like you say above. So I just sold him cos he was crap anyway lol. but I'd like to know how you can sort this aswell

at the latter stages of my first season on top player with the default team i stupidly put nearly all my default players on the transfer list to see how much i could possibly sell them for and if they would generate any interest. i did get a couple of offers but there was a huge catch.

by the end of the negotiation period all of them were disloyal i.e. 'broken heart' with the condition indefinitely on purple. They all made me sign contract renewals as well. But at the start of the new season the heart is restored...albeit an empty but not a broken heart. but their condition is still purple. it just takes time for it to be restored....a lot of time.

Orrid - have you tried to look at the players "dossier". Maybe it's saying something like "he is desperately to move" or something like that. My captain had a purple arrow for 3-4 straight matches, then i checked and liverpool had made an approach for him so he wanted to move. Since i've figured there wasn't anything i could do to keep him, i let him go..

Has anyone experienced anything like this?
Think it's kinda bad, that i couldn't even offer him higher salary or something to maybe get him to stay..

when player is "heart broken", they can never get good condition. and from my experience, even if you play him for a few games, or train him to earn skill card, his loyalty just wont increase (unless you win trophies, but wont increase much anyway). so dont put your player on transfer list unless you are absolutely sure!

that seems bad like if it was one of your favorite players and they wanted to leave.

Yeah i must say that i found it quite realistic that he just had purple arrow all the time because he wanted to leave (it wasn't because i benched him or anything) being my captain he played every single game.
But he got tempted by Liverpools great offer, quite understandable - However the thing i dissliked about it: if that happens it seems like there's just not anything to do. I mean if konami at least let me try to offer him a new contract with better salary, and he still would want to leave it would be fine. Just give me the opportunity..

If it renews his loyalty after signing a new contract that's cool............if he didn't have three years left on his contract, god damn it!

dont put any player on Transfer List. transfer list in one of the main reason of 'broken heart'

don't know what it's like on 2010 but with last years game,I only ever give players a 3 year contract. that way if they do get the hump you havn't got long before you can sort it out.

When ( and if ) they do, i wait fopr the contract renewal, then offer them a contract that I know they wont accept. This makes them dissappear from your squad

Then go to ' search by group ' and find them in the list of players out of contract. Now make them the offer that they are asking for ( normally a lot lower than what they wanted before ), and they will resign with about 1/2 of thier hearts restored red.

Of course, if any other club comes in for them and beats you to the punch you've lost them, but thats only happened to me once.

It seems almost like a bug of some sorts , but I'd like to know if it works in this years game.

i have owen hargreaves whos desprate for a move proably becuase i dont play him often atm he is on good form so im going to play him a bit more and make him want to stay.
