players struggling with form - is there a cure?

Hello, every year me and a couple of mates do a 'pro league' where we each choose four teams, going from really good to crap, and do a full season. But some of my players just cant get any good form at all - I'm referring to the coloured arrows next to the player name when you set up. We are about six matches in and a couple of my good players have still not even had green sideways arrow form yet and it's so annoying.

Is the best thing to rest them or try and play them, or is there any tricks that you know to help it?

Thanks

download the PES2010_editor found HERE!

in the global editing section set a minimum form to 5 or 6, it does wonders for your gameplay across the board, but the game also become slightly harder. It's well worth it.
Form highly affects the AI players ability to make smart decisions as well as their physichal movement so a low form score makes a player close to useless in certain game modes like BAL especially.

Yeah, I did something similar. I gave every player +2 for their form stat. It's a pain in the ass to have to do this, but it works. If you are going to be playing against CPU teams, you can go in to the Editing section, to Edit Teams, Lineup, Assisted Settings and the first assisted setting, I think it's called Lineup, and enter 2 as the value. This will make the CPU team pick it's starting lineup based on ability + form, I think it seems to pick players by form alone on the default "0" setting, which can lead to situations like playing Real Madrid in the Champions League final and they pick a second string side, leaving out Kaka, Ronaldo, Casillas etc
This fix does the trick and cures the problem of players being in poor form far too much. Resting them won't make any difference at all, they'll still have the same (weighted towards poor, it seems) random form arrows for the next match

Yeah, not exactly sure what you mean, but I think you can set home and away condition to be red, orange, green, etc. in match settings in PES 2010 before you start a match? I.e. so that they're not random

I'm all for the random form arrows, it's realistic that players won't always be in top form. I just think it seems to be weighted too heavily in favour of players being in poor form too much, both for player controlled teams and the CPU teams. I won a Champions League, played against basically Real Madrid's second team in the final. It's not a huge issue for me tbh, if they fixed the refs up and allowed another player to move the joypad and play as the CPU opposition team during multiplayer offline tournaments, I'd be well happy with the game. I can live with the form arrows., besides which they're editable!

Yeah that CPU thing apparently was taken out from PES in the past for no reason...

And yeah, the CPU does pick some random teams. I was playing against Chelsea and gave them a sound thrashing on Top Player ML, probably mostly helped by the fact that Terry came on as a sub in around the 80th min, and Sturridge and Taylor (or someone random) were up front with no Drogba. I'd play Drogba on a purple myself...lol
