If you can force your way from the Pro demo I highly recommend you download the Bioshock demo if you haven't played it before.

I really like it. I love the whole setting and feel to the game.

How much would we be talking roughly for a second hand PS3.

Sold the 360 a while back and currently only have a PS2 but as the winter is coming in I'm looking for a new console.

Only really want it for Pro Evo, NHL, Quantum of Solace and some racing games.

That depends on which PS3 you want. I've seen some second-hand 60 GB PS3s selling for anywhere between £275 and £325. I've also seen some second-hand 40 GB PS3s selling for anywhere between £200 and £250. This is just the price of the console on it's own.

If you're looking for a PS3 then you might want to wait a while until after the 160 GB PS3 has come out on October 31st. The 40 GB PS3 is discontinued as far as I know. But whenever you see anything become discontinued, the price inevitably drops. It's rare to see a discontinued item sell at the original retail price.

But you never know Sony though, they may still insist on the £300 price for the 40 GB PS3 throughout the Christmas period as they are still making huge losses on the PS3.

But personally, I would have thought that it would be in Sony's best interests to drop the price of the 40 GB PS3 just to get rid of the stock. And believe me, there are lots of 40 GB PS3s still available out there in the shops. So something has to give.

If I were you I'd sit tight and wait it out for a while.

got play tv. All very good so far BUT one half hour episode of something = 625mb :( that's an awful lot to say I only have 20gb left and my system is used daily by my whole family! (6)

As far as I can see there's no way of changing the quality settings...

Man, that game is tight i have it on the 360. The whole feel to the game is good, so i do recommend it to anyone with an PS3 and are into FPSs.

HDDs can be pretty cheap, I'd recommend trying to get a 250gb one or something.

Yeah you can't change the quality settings for any of your recordings. This also applies to Sky+, Virgin+ and Top Up TV+/Freeview+ boxes as well.

In my opinion, the best thing for you would be to get a DVD Hard Drive Recorder with built-in Freeview. You'll only get a Single Tuner with DVD Hard Drive Recorders but your recordings are way more flexible in that quality can be set to the lowest setting in order to save Hard Drive space. And you still get the Pause and Rewind Live TV features as well.

This is why I wouldn't recommend PlayTV. I would recommend Sky+ and Virgin+ though as they both offer Pause/Rewind Live TV and Record 2 channels at the same time features for premium TV channels.

You get a bigger Hard Drive with both Sky+ and Virgin+. In my opinion, the PS3 Hard Drive is far too small for it to be used as a Personal Video Recorder.

I might have to buy a bigger hard drive aswell, 40GB is full up already. Does it affect your warranty at all?

Yeah 60gb isn't big enough but just invest in a bigger harddrive, Kev. Easy to install too.

How do you go about doing this? Is it as easy as changing a PC hard drive? Or do you mean external? Because my external drives never work with my PS3 for some reason... :(

Doesn't void your warranty. If anyone knows where they do some cheap HDDs letta me know.

I'm pretty sure you can use a 320Gb HDD. I've been reading all the reviews and its been saying that it works fine and its also specifically compatible with PS3. The overall storage ends up at 298Gb.

Doesn't void your warranty.

How can that be true? Every company who provides a warranty always provide it on the basis that the end user does not open or modify the item in any way during the warranty period (usually 12 months from the purchase date).

If you heard something different then please state your source that says that you can upgrade a PS3 Hard Drive by yourself without voiding the warranty.
