PLEASE HELP!Max drive to memory card problem (corrupted card, or something else)

I hope for you guys that I`m the only one ever with this problem, but if I`m not PLEASE HELP!!!

I downloaded Wemerica option file 3.0, transfered it to my Max drive, and, than, as it is normally done, transfered it to half full memory card (original one-not fake). As soon as the process finished, I noticed that Max Drive software was not ` browsing` memory card. I tried to go back and enter again to browser screen, but still nothing. Like there weren`t any files on it at all. Anyway, I have put my WE9 in PES2, and, on the starting screen was message Option file is not loaded. I went to ingame Option menu, and tried to load the option file. Voila, it was successful (though the faces of Serbia&Montenegro faces were not good, but Croatian kit was nicely done ). OK. I editted it, and then tried to save, but:
ERROR OCCURED, file coud not be saved. I tried to save anything else: Cup, League, even button configuration and formation but it didn`t go. Only thing I noticed, when you go to Save menu with those 36 empty spaces for all the saves (cups, leagues, ML, replay, formation), the last space number 36 in the right corner at the bottom(where always Option file is) says in the description meny on the right side CORRUPT FILE. This might be the lead....I turned the game of, and went to PS2 browser screen to check Memory card contents, but it said:
no files, 4,345 bytes free?!?!?

I tried to transfer some files with MaxDrive and ActionReplay 2V2, and I succeded to transfer them-they are both visible in the AR2V2 and MaxDrive browser screens, but still not in PS2 browser. I couldnt check if this gets only to WE9, mean not able to save files, cause all my games I gave away due to the WE9 and PES5. I actually don`t care for other saves that I had on the Memory card, but the fact that I can`t save WE9 and (maybe)PES files makes me :angry: ! Well, it happened before to play the whole 10mins game Master league season in one day, but.... It would be toooo much to leave PS2 ON forever...
I think that most of you will agree with COOLIO and his mother, when he said `Even my mumma think that my card is gone...`
I just gave my Memorycard to my friend to test it, in a case that something might be wrong with my Magic Gate plugs, which would be much more painfull option. If I could just format Memorycard and start all over...
So, first of all, thanks for reading this text, hope that it could give you some idea what problems could appear with file transfer, and, last the thing:

ANYBODY HELP WITH ANY ADVICE, will be very grateful.
Oh yes, one more might be important thing:
In the AR2V2 browser menu can be seen `crushed` (with small zip icon) file named U, which can not be deleted, copied, crushed, uncrushed, moved, it just sits there...
Any suggestions will help.

To format your memory card, put the Max Drive CD into your PS2, go to the PS2 memory card part and press square to format it.

thanx dude, I`ll do that first thing I get home. Will that effect corrupted files also? As I have said, I don`t care if I lose all previous saves, and, how can I find out about all the MaxDrive features? (maybe I should read manual first).

Just did it, lost all the previous saves, but, as the last year I play only PES-didn`t care.

Memory card is back in function, works properly and now I can save and do what I want with it!

About knowing the effect of the `format` function:

I found that out after a tw week holiday in Dubai with my girlfriend:
actually, after the first week, we were visiting one friend there, she was working as a stewardess in Emirates company (you know, the one from last year Chelsea kit ).
She was so nice to give us her camera to make all the nice photos (it`s a DUBAI, dude, many things to see...and photos to make).
So After exactly 452 of our photos, and about the same amount of the photos that this friend had on the MEMORY CARD of the telephone, I wanted to see all the options of the telephone... An I wanted to change the FORMAT of the photos, cause it was on 5mPixels. So I have pressed FORMAT button, and, guess what happened? Yes that`s right, card was FORMATED!
I think that next seven days I had to go to same places, make same photos, but, that`s life dude. That`s how I find out about formating

And, again for the advice LEVEL6: THANKS! Normaly, I read all the manuals, but this time I have failed. But, thanx to you guys, I`m back in game again.
