firstly cheers for all the info on patchin....fair play must of took alot of time to sort all that out!!

I am very new to this patchin stuff but it all sounds real good so I gave it a go....a went out and bought a DVD writer for the PC, and a slide card for my PS2(with Magic Disks) to play the game!! I downloaded all programs and went through the process with no problems at all (it took me 25hrs to download the patch as i have a crap connection!). Once patched I then used NERO Express (came with the DVD writer) to burn image to disk (used DVD-R disks) I could only burn at x4 speed as this rubbish version of NERO doesn't allow me to change the speed. However, the dvd burned succesfully, I then used the slide card (in the correct way!) and then when I took out the DVD Magic Disk and swaped it for my patched PES4 and pressed Load Program....it couldn't read the disk....it kept comin up with the message "Not PS2 disk" or "Insert valid PS2 disk".....somthing like that anyway!! I could hear the laser struggling to read the disk..!! because this is the first DVD I have ever copied and the first time I used the Slide Card I don't know if i might be going wrong somewhere?!? but i did follow instructions exactly as i should (including WINRAR, DVD Decrypter, Pro Matic,ect)....can u please help..spent loads of mobey tryin to sort this and very angry about it at the mo...!! Could it be because I'm burning at x4?? is this to fast?? Any help is much apprectiated

Alrite mate, u should try burning it with dvd decrypter at the slowest speed possible always. Give it a go and let me know how u get on mate

Try this.
Make a new image of your PES4 onto your PC and burn that and see if it works. Without patching it.

Its a burning program which allows you to write at 1x speed too. You can make an image of your PES4 with this program as you probably already know..

But for burning, go to mode-->>ISO--->>>Write and then select your ISO of PES4.

I have friends that have Slide Cards/Swap Magic and recently we have noticed that TDK DVD-rs (x1-x4), that we have always used without problems, have changed the actual disc layout so that the lead in track is very, very short. This makes the discs not work at all for people with slide cards. Try another brand of DVD-r (after doing a test as Zyg described earlier. Try Ritek or Ridisc discs as they are great, the lead in section on the disc is also large enough on these discs.

I always use Nero Burning Rom to burn my ISO's. Just find it by going into the start menu and All Programs. Do not use Nero SmartStart.

I'm not sure what NERO package it is (at work at the mo!!) , I think its called Express!?! but when i chosse burn image to disc, it shows the option of what speed to set it at....but its not highlighted and won't let me change it at all, its just locked on x4 speed!! i think this is because its like a crapy trial version of NERO...

I will get some of other brands of DVDs you have mentioned and give them a try.....

so let me get this right (sorry if i'm being a retard!!), is this decrypter the same as the one used to transfer the original PES4 onto the hard drive?? so what your saying is that you don't actually need to use NERO to burn.....u can use this decrypter instead???

Yes, you can write with it too.

You can use a few programs to burn your game image. I usually use Alcohol 120% and previously used Nero.

You need to make sure you select the Burn As Image option to burn a game or else you're just burning a data disk which won't be read by anything.

so if i use the decrypter i won't need NERO or Alcohol120%???

can u download Alchol0120% or is this a high street package purchased in the shop?

i was definantly choosing Burn as Image on the NERO package I have...(and you have to select DVD or CD....I was obviously choosing DVD)

Yes mate just use dvd decrypter to burn it that's all u need, remember at the slowest speed.

cheers mate....one more question....is it pretty straight forward to burn using the DVD Decrypter?? is there an optio to choose stating "Burn as image"???

Piece of piss mate just follow wat GFK said and set the speed to 1x here is wat GFK said:
"But for burning, go to mode-->>ISO--->>>Write and then select your ISO of PES4" then just click on the diageam with the arrow at the bottom to start it. Let us know how u get on mate, If that doesn't work the problem will be with the way u patched it. Good luck mate

just to let you know lads......i bought some new DVD's and used the DVD Decrypter to burn at x1 speed...and it worked....BRILLIANT!!!
