Pro Evo 2011 (PS2) - Loading Issue

I've bought the ps2 version of pro evo 2011 but for some reason the game isnt loading up (I am using it on my ps3).

After the game runs through the language select, screen resolution setting, loading option file and the Konami banner appears and then when that goes the screen goes blank and it just stays there.

I have already exchanged it and the same thing is happening with the
replacement copy that I have.

Can anyone shed any light on this?, perhaps its a ps3 system setting thats causing this issue?

This would be news to me as I have never had any problems playing a ps2 game on my ps3. I've been buying the ps2 version of pro for the last 3 odd years and they have all worked fine.

Have they done somehting different this time?

Critty is right..not all PS2 games work on PS3....most do, but not all...so that's probably the problem

If that's the issue (emailed Konami) then thank you Konami and Seabass for totally screwing me over. Not only are they still incapable of producing a decent pro evo on ps3 3 years on but they have gone and well and well and truly fucked things up by not even making the ps2version compatible with the ps3.

They should know that some ppl have the sense to know that they are producing nothing but utter shite on ps3 when it comes to pro evo. If only I could have the opportunity to tell them this face to face!

There was no issue of any of the other previous versions not working. Whats the point of backwards capability if they are not using it. I doubt its somehting that is complicated or adds that much cost.

Its just another example of Konami totally losing it.

i too am having same probs.

im totaly gutted as i hate the next gen pes game still,the ps2 games are a million times better.

I'm with you on that Gooner, I was so looking forward to it as well. My friend who has a ps2 got his yesterday and has not had any problems.

It all points towards Pro2011 on PS2 not being compatible with PS3. I have written to Konami but am awaiting a reply, I thinkt they will confirm my fear that there is no workaround.

Other than looking to pick up a PS2 on the cheap I will for the first time since the early 90's most probably not have a football game on my consoles. I will not consider wasting my money on any of the next gen footy games, they are quite simply shite, the lot of them.

i phoned konami yesterday and they said it will not work on ps3 this year.

im totally gutted.

looks like no pes 2011 ps2 version for me this year.and to think i planned to play it all year with my cousin like always and now i have no new pes game

also i have both pes 2011 and fifa 11 next gen version and they both still dont compare to pes ps2 games,not even as goos as iss 64 lol

im hoping to find a solution to this still and i even hope sony or konami will relase a patch or something.

if enough people complain then im sure they will do something about it.

i just wish konami would make next gen pro using pes 3,5,6 engine with next gen graphics and il be a happy bunny.

it makes me sick that some people think the next gen pro games are good,they dont even come close not even close at all.

the real proplem isnt with konami, its for the stupid idiots who buy the next gen games, seriously, how retarded could someone be to waste 50$ on unplayable game?
