Pro Evo 2012 vs FIFA 12

I love things about fifa but it will never match my afection for pro! I used to be a die hard fifa fan but then i played 04 and 05 and i was converted!

But the thing that makes me keep buying fifa before pro is the fact that they don't allow us to be involved in the process and they change things that dont need to be changed!

Pes05 was epic and amazing the second best football game ever (tif2002) and then it slowly got worse by changing things that neednt be changed! and now in 2012 the goalkeepers are beyond reason, the shootings just wrong and now you are unable to do a slide tackle without giving away a free kick!

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS!

I have seen threads over and over again about which PES is the best and it usually falls on PES 5 or PES 6. To me this is a disgrace.

The best pro evo game to-date was on the PS2 platform ....just sit and think about that for a minute. I know a lot of other titles that started on the PS2 but none are better that their next gen counter parts.

To admit that the best pro evo game was on the PS2 console ...is actually admitting that the current titles are shit.

Fifa's best outing to-date is Fifa 12.....which by the way is on next gen consoles.

Year after year all i can read is patch this, patch that, download this or try that.....Hell fucking no! Not after after I have spent my hard earn cash. If PES 2012 is not better than PES 5 or 6 ....why the fuck should i buy it?

The fact is that PES is an ancient game in a modern environment .....this is why Fifa is kicking its arse all over the damn globe. So many people could never be wrong.

When people say that the best pes was pes 5 it isn't because pes 5 is better than pes 11/pes 12. It is because since pes 11 and 12 are on ps3/360, we expected more from them, especially when comparing it to pes 5, a PS2 game. Expecting more is VERY DIFFERENT than saying that the previous ps2 games were better. They were better because for their time, they were ahead of expectations. BUT NOW, PES although still a good game, has too many unfixed stuff from the ps2 era that people expected them to be fixed since it's the ps3 era. But it does not mean that pes 5 is better than pes 11/12. Because in a direct comparison, pes 11/12 does many things beter than pes 5. They may failed in other areas, but overall, pes 11/12 do things better than pes 5 if you were to play them head to head.

Anyway I hope you learned the lesson.

As for Fifa. Fifa 12 is the worst football game ever made. Fifa 10 is much, much better and way less cheap, although it still had gimmicks, BECAUSE AFTERALL LET'S FACE IT, FIFA IS ALWAYS FILLED WITH GIMMICKS THAT FOOL PEOPLE AND MAKE THEM FEEL THAT MAGICAL WOW MOMENT WHEN THEY FIRST PLAY IT, BUT the thing is that after a while Fifa is always a shallow game that is deeply flawed from the beginning. It has a perfect execution of a failed core.

You say millions love it. Yes it's popularity is great and all but let's see why?

We have much more casual gamers these days that want to play a game and actually manage to do well in it. Now I am not saying that fifa is easier than pes in terms of difficulty. NO. I am saying that fifa is MUCH, MUCH EASIER to get your grips with it as fifa DOES NOT HAVE DEPTH. Not to mention that the licenses really help.

Plus you can tell a pes user to a fifa user as a fifa user uses the kits as a reason not to buy the game and a pes user sees it as an opurtunity to spend the hours to be proud that they made that arsenal kit look like the arsenal kit! so everytime you score that goal and see that kit you know the effort and it was all worth it! OR just download an option file! simples!


pes05 is the best! not because its on an xbox or a ps2 because it is! whats the best gta? Vice city/san andreas? what about pacman? that was released century's ago does that mean its not as good as current pacman because it was released way back when?

I know tons of people who play Fifa 12 and none of them talks about AI cheating. I do hear complains that the new tactical defending has a steep learning curve ...which makes it sort of impossible to defend against teams like Barca...but ...

No one talks about cheating. I have caught Messi with slower players....how? Because when he received the ball he was standing ...and i was already in full stride towards him. So guess what ...i caught up with him :w00t

This is how realistic and fun Fifa 12 is, no one can just gun off at 30mph. We all start off slowly and build up speed. Fifa is the best game on the market today, there is no use even comparing it to PES.
Be smart, try to learn how to play the game before crying like a bitch about a video game cheating you. How old are you?

AGAIN YOU ARE FAILING TO UNDERSTAND. Fifa is always flawed no matter when you play or, even for the first time. But it executes everything so nicely and blends everything in a way that makes everything so smooth and nicely presented. Now when you first play a game, it's normal to be impressed and all these fifa gimmicks make you fall into their trap.

Casual gamers want to feel good about themselves. Everyone does. So choosing an easier game to master will always be their choice. But this does not mean that fifa is easier than pes. It's simply much easier to learn and master SINCE IT HAS NO DEPTH at all. But again, the visual appeal and the other gimmicks attract people. Not to mention that the licenses help greatly.

I'm so glad I gave this game a try. I'm a FIFA manual player, but ever since my PS3 mutilated my FIFA 12 disc and rendered it unplayable,(it scratched the whole center of it) I turned to PES. (Atleast untill Ea's EURO 2012 spinoff) Although the OF I have atm has the Euro and nearly all major tournaments... I was pretty surprised at this.


My only gripes are shooting. It feels so unnatural and just, no 'oomph' to it. Even when you take long shots, the ball feels so light. I know it might be hard for Konami to get shooting right, (PES 2010, the ball was so heavy and the sound effect for shooting sounded like a bomb) but they are ALMOST close to perfection.


But in my opinion, PES' general ball physics beats FIFA. But FIFA's shooting mechanics beat PES.
