I really think that there should be more defending options, cos when you think about it when you are attacking you've got dribbling, through balls, through ball chips and loads of others, but when you are defending you have slide tackle and barging into them and thats it really.

back heeld shot

i cant count the amount of times i have had the ball in the box only feet away from the goal then to shoot and watch my player spin and launch the ball into oblivion.a shot like the back heel pass would be very much welcome.

nut megging

this accurs some times in the game by accident it would be good if you could hold r2 or select and tap x and it would knock the ball in frount of you going through the attacking players legs or pushing the ball around the player.

What i'd like to see in PES

Well just a couple o things really.
For a start the Master League should be revamped so that the leagues even if they are only 16 teams should be in country order and not jumbled up!
The simple reason for this is that Konami are aiming for a better and more enjoyable football experience and by creating the relegation scenario and the WEFA Championships its similar to that of real football the only difference is that in ML you play teams from all over Europe and again play teams all over Europe in WEFA Championships so there isnt a slice of realism only that you've got another shield or cup in the cabinet.
I'd like to see better and more improved Celebrations.. Theres one thats on PES4 and it looks ridiculously rude! They all pile on and the guy on top looks like he's doing something he shouldnt be doing in team sports!
The Louis Saha and Thierry Henry celebrations are good though!
I'd like to see better atmosphere in the stadiums like sometimes when you see stadiums in Italy they let flares off and the pitch is sometimes covered so its takes a while for the pitch to clear. I'd like to see snow and players losing theyre footing occasionally.
The Positions of the players should be edited too! With the choice of Sweeper/Libero and Centre Forwards or Strikers. For Instance Henry is a CF on PES and so is RVN but in truth whereas Henry scores goals he can also assist. I don't recall RVN ever assisting so he should just be an out and out striker!
Whats with Side Backs? Arent they called Left Back and Right Back?
Graphics wise some of the stuff mentioned probably couldnt be done on the PS2 engine. The other thing i forgot to mention was there was once a Megadrive game where when making a sub the guy used to get off the bench and unzip his tracksuit and alter his kit before coming on.. i thought that was really funny because i hadn't seen that in any soccer game. I wonder if its possible in PES?
I think the Commentators should read out the half time scores at the break for the other ML and Cup games too! it would make the game more interactive with the league your playing in and Golden boot presentations at the end of season!

This an extremely trivial one and probably at the bottom of the list as far as improvements go, but..... does anybody else think that the more realistic faces (ie anybody who looks almost exactly like they should do) nearly all have WAY too big noses?

Yeah this one is great, and could be done NOW, don't have to wait for WExxx for this. Just make a damm cutscene.

Also more variety in the presentation custscenes. Don't have to be the same podium all the time.

Might have been mentioned by me previously

I'd like to see different coloured and types/styles of netting.
Some of the Portuguese teams like Porto and Lisbon play with the netting stretched and tied back and usually at Porto its dark green or black i think.
At Villareal they have Yellow netting and at Stadium of Light at the mo i think its red and white netting.
Konami have made a start on this already with the Parc De Princes stadium already having darker coloured netting and some of the white netting being hexagon shaped rather than squares.
It does add to the realism slightly because when watching footie on tv or live at a stadium not all stadiums have the same netting and goal set up.

I also forgot to mention

Oh and i'd like if possible for Konami to consider the following.
During PES Master League have realistic transfers between cpu teams trading. Also i'd like them to improve the cpu's player position AI.
For Instance i was on the market transfer data screen i noticed Udinese had signed three English Players.. now i know footballs a funny old game but this is highly unlikely. Campbell from Arsenal Jenas from Newcastle and Stead from Blackburn all signed for Udinese.!
Now they are good players but the chance of those 3 players all moving in the summer to an Italian Uefa cup team is minimal.
Its not that theres been a significant improvement. On PES3 Celtic signed alessandro del piero from Juventus and the following time signed two forwards from spain.
The cpu's trading AI should be changed so not just to make it difficult to buy big players but for the positional sense as well. Last week on PES4 Man City (My rival team) had Richard Dunne out through suspension and elected to play Sun Jihai at Centre Back.. I won 5-0 in the derby cos Sun Jihai isnt any good in that position. Worst of all they could have played Distin at Centre Back instead but elected to play him in Jihai's right back position.

Has anybody seen any of the reviews for Pro5 on amazon? this one is brilliant -
"This game is howwible. The gameplay is not very responsive and there are many glitches. For example, scoring a goal with brazil against Chelsea, and many of your players will turn into big monsters, and make huge footprints in the playing surface. The gameplay makes me feel sick and i would not reccomend it to any earthlings or clingons. It is howwible"

How great is that. They could have spelt Klingons right though.

This sounds trivial, and I know you can edit it as I spent hours doing so, but, as standard, they should make the players play with their favoured foot most of the time. I hate it when players like Giggs, Gravesen or anyone else for that matter use their weaker foot - in real football most players use their strongest foot and nothing else unless they a) have to, or b) are two footed players. Next time you watch a match, you will see what I mean.

What I want

I think konami should spend a little more time on the trophies you play a long hard season only to be rewarded with a shitty tin cup.

Ooo.. I forgot something else...who else likes this?

Hi..
I enjoy playing games that give me more bang for my buck.. sounds glazer like eh?

anyway.. I think Konami should go back to basics with the ML. Revamp it so for instance if you win the WEFA Cup then after pre season just before the season starts you could play the WEFA Champions in the WEFA Super Cup and just like in real football you could also have a few secret teams that only appear in the ML in the latter stages.. to vie for the prestigious World Club Cup so you can really savour all the glory..
The other ridiculous thing is the summons to represent thing.. If England are playing a match.. they never have the Premiership playing games do they .. yet in ML your expected to play without your star performers?
It'd be nice for your players to at least come back from international duty with a change in mood!
Konami need to sort out the AI if a player is gonna be a statistic on the pitch then fare doo's but if they want the gamesplayer to feel like he's controlling a group of individuals then the footballers have to feel and act lifelike.
Also .. i'd like to see the transfer options changed.. like the players being valued under the currency of the language selected in the main menu.. whats with points? It be good to have players monetary worth on the game and a clubs bankroll and prize money instead of a points system.

If Konami is going to stick to same League system which I hope not, then it would be better if the last two bottom teams in the 3 other divisions get relegated as well and replaced by other teams that were not used in the initial set up.

Also, I would like to see the end of the Div 2 cup. It is meaningless. Rename the Div 1 Cup to something else, perhaps FA or something and include all the teams from Div2 for this competition. At least we might get to see some giant killings.

Anger Meter

Muad'Dib said:
Being able to stand up after a tackle and go punch the bastard like in one of those hockey games would be a great improvement as well.

I know this might have been said since, but I was thinking this would work well if the following is done: Each player has a sort of "anger meter" which rises each time they are tackled roughly for example. Players whose aggression level was higher would have anger meters which rose more quickly and therefore would lash out after less rough and tumble. You could have a button prompt come up on screen to unleash their fury or otherwise, so that the more mild-mannered PES'er could refrain from dirtiness if they wished. Could also have enforcers on teams who got angry and stepped in when they saw their team-mates being hacked e.g Roy Keane's bar goes up when he sees C.Ronaldo being flattened and they go sort it out for the less aggressive team-mate.

Also, as regards adding diving, don't do it as a controllable feature at very least. I had a friend who would abouse that on whichever FIFA it was you could do it on and it's a real bore.

Summons to represent

Could have a Champ Man style thing where you appeal for a postponement when too many of your players are away on international duty.

I have to say I kinda agree with this, even though the best PES4 goal i scored was with Fyssas of Greece from lmiles outside the box. This was silly because he is Greece's left back and left footed and yet cracked home a half volley from 40 yards out- with his right foot! Should be sorted.
