Konami makes patch to speed up 'PES 2008'
Monday, November 12 2007, 15:20 GMT

By Alex Fletcher

Konami has revealed plans to create a patch that will speed up Pro Evo 2008 online, setting a November 19 deadline for its release.

The company has responded to complaints that the game lags and has urged fans not to switch over to play the series' rival FIFA.

A Konami spokesperson told PESForums: "We hope to have the patch released within two weeks at the latest, and have set a deadline of Monday, November 19 to get this to the public, as we are aware there are a lot of gamers out there that are avoiding a massive part of the game because of the online issues.

"I would say to all PES fans to be patient with us while we rectify the problems, please be assured that we are working very hard to fix these problems.

"We hope that everyone will soon be enjoying the online aspect of the game which people will love playing with their friends and fellow gamers."

Yeah but what about the off-line patch? I do not have access to online play so this does not effect me in the slightest. I'm sure more people play this game offline than online, so surely they should sort the offline first?

I have got a PS3 version and i also have a HD tv. The slowdown offline is not rectified just because i have a HD tv you know.

The terrible slowdown when near the penalty area, i cannot possibly continue to play this game as the slowdown completely ruins my gaming experience. I feel cheated by Konami for releasing an un-finished game and charging me £40 for it. I really like PES 2008, if the slowdown was sorted then it would be a terrific game but the slowdown is ruining what could be a quality game.
