Pro Evolution Soccer Management

Do you think this will be any good?

It's being released at quite a random time though... (31/03/06)

Pro Evolution Soccer Management invites users to experience the dizzying highs and dreadful lows of managing a top-flight club. Players can manage any club from six European leagues, and are charged with balancing the day-to-day running of their chosen side, including player selection, training methods, and transfer dealings.

Using a simple yet effective menu system, players oversee every aspect of their team's performance. In addition, coaching staff must be chosen to assist in specific areas, while Pro Evolution Soccer 5's exhaustive player database can be scoured for new signings - before entering negotiations to secure their services. Data from Pro Evolution Soccer 5 can be used in Management for the creation of 'Dream Teams', which can then be swapped and used in both games.

Pro Evolution Soccer Management is the perfect complement to Pro Evolution Soccer 5 and features an incredible level of depth. As in the real thing, the user will stand or fall by the results of their team, and while European glory is the aim of every manager, each team's Board of Directors will be quick to give struggling managers the sack.

It looks good from what i've seen in OPM2 but, it will be a console release and a haven't seen a good management sim on the consoles and unless they make it pretty special football manager will have it beat if it is released on pc

I'm hoping it works in a sort of Player Manager way - you're the manager but you get to play the matches too. I'm not quite sure how the whole thing is going to work. But then, nobody is are they?

This is a great idea. I just hope it is implemented better than FIFA's "Football Fusion." PES Manager needs to put HEAVY emphasis on the fact that you can build up and train your squads from PES.

For example: if a player gets hurt, the medical staff/equipment should play a major role in recovery time. That's not to say that just because you payed for the best doctors that they can make a ligament tear to the knee recoverable in 1 month, but how about 7-9 months instead of 10-12.

PES Manager should put a lot of emhasis on micro-management of your players. This game should breathe some life into these players and reflect that in numerous ways including, off-field problems which could effect how well a player focuses on training. If the players can't help him out, then try the assistant coaches, or the head coach, and if all else fails and the player is an "impact player," have a sit dow with the owner, team captain and head coach alike.

Lets finally give the team captains some importance, and not just slap an arm band on any player for looks. In times of team crisis he should be the man to converse with, especially when trying to deal with those players who can't focus during training, etc. Team captains should help play a key role in keeping the team chemistry up. Select a poor captain and your team could suffer the consequences.

Most importantly, all the training that is done in PES Manager needs to be reflected respectively in PES. I noticed that when using "Football Fusion" in FIFA, the players on the pitch never truly reflected the training that they did in Total Club Manager. Even if you trained poorly, the skill of the gamer could overcome that. This should not be so in PES Manager. At the end of games in ML mode we see that certain player stats increase marginally. The same should happen after the final day of training in PES Manager. Furthermore, the announcing should reflect the training that took part in PES Manager.ie. "They've been working a lot on set pieces in training. Notice the seperation that ______ got from the defender marking him. All that hard work looks to be paying off lately."

And remember, just because you are an expert PES player and button pusher, doesn't mean you know how to manage a squad as well. If you neglect your managerial duties, your team will reflect that on the pitch, no matter how good of a gamer you are. Remember, players have a teamwork rating. Successful clubs need more than just talent. There needs to be a good manager, good assistants, good trainers, good physical therapists, GREAT team chemistry and a bit of luck. Take a look at Real Madrid. Perfect example that talent alone won't win you championhips. It's the whole package.

From what I've seen so far, with the screenshots and all, its just Winning Eleven Tactics, with updated rosters and tranlated text a voices I presume...

Sorry, but no. It'll be like seeing another guy playing PES. The match is exactly the same, but you cant control it, other than standard managment choices...

Well, PES Manager will load PES5 Opf. so if you have modded your PES5 with real names and such, they'll be available in the manager too.

Well if its PS2 only it can kindly get itself off my wanted list. I have a PS2 but I just can't sit there for hours on end playing games, unlike my lovely PC.

I think it will be good, like an extension to the Master League, it will still be just another manager sim in the shadow of FM though.
