problem shooting read this

I have found the problem some of us seem to have with the shooting
its all to do with your xbox360 setting
mine is set to widescreen when i shoot the ball flies over the bar even with a quick tap
but change your 360 settings from widescreen to normal and you have full control over shooting a tap results in the power meter barely moves you just have to get used to how ya players look because they are closer when not in widescreen.
seems konami have built this game on the usual normal tv mode even thought most of the population have got a widescreen

How can you change your settings from widescreen to normal without loosing resolution? I have a HDTV and usually have my settings on 1080p. But to have it so its not widescreen i have to have the lowest resolution??? Surely this can be changed????

Help????

Sorry to sound a bit obnoxious, but the only way to solve the "shooting problem" is to practice at it. For example, look at these points: what angle the player is to the goal?, is the ball bouncing?, is the player left or right footed?, is the player ok to take a shot from a distance?, is the player running into the shot?, is the player in an akward position? etc.

Changing it from Widescreen to normal mode will have no effect on your ability to shoot. Its like, for example saying you can take a better free kick if you have white coloured laces than red.

Hey, if you find changing the settings from Widescreen to normal helps your shooting, then be my guest Chimaira67! ;)

Thinking that widescreen mode makes a difference is ridiculous.

IM SORRY ITS NOT RIDICULOUS, YOU TRY IT.
WHEN WIDESCREEN MODE IS OFF, HOLDING THE SHOOT BUTTON TAKES A LOT LONGER TO FILL THE POWER BAR UP.
WHICH MEANS YOUR SHOTS ARE MORE CONTROLLED AND DONT FLY OVER THE BAR ALL THE TIME.
ONLY PROBLEM IS GAMEPLAY SPEEDS UP AS WELL WHEN THE WIDESCREEN MODE IS OFF

WHEN WIDESCREEN MODE IS ON GAME PLAY IS A GOOD SPEED BUT THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH ON THE SHOOT BUTTON SEES YOUR SHOT GO FLYING OVER THE STADIUM

That makes no sense at all! I get the same problem on the PS2, the game just seems to be much more sensitive to striking.

Sometimes you tap the shoot button and it flies over but when your player is in a better position for shooting, he can knock one in with more than just a tap. It just seems that there is much more technique involved in shooting now so we'll just have to get used to it.

Are you suggesting that by making your screen narrower, the shooting bar becomes narrower therefore you keeep your finger on the shoot bar less time before you shoot?

finally sorted shooting

after months of frustration i have finally figured it out went to brothers and shooting on his 360 was fine nothing like mine only difference was he was using a scart were i was using a lead which connects to the component or composite AV inputs dont no why this affects shooting but it does if anyone is having trouble with the ball flying over the bar all the time try it
does anyone no why the difference in leads would affect the game in this way ?

erm they wouldnt effect the game play what so ever.how the game is built doesnt rely on the picture type or input, otherwise itd be like every1 playing on a differnt type of tv would be playing a different game.i play on a widescreen hdtv and im fine,i sky them sometimes but thats because of the angle and body position, nothing to do with widescreen otherwise why would i be in d1 online with 100 wins 30 losses or summat, hmmmmm coz my widescreen means i always sky it.

its like saying i know why i keep crashing on nfs carbo, its because its widescreen, its not its coz im s**t at it.plus i believe for the first time pes has been built with widescreen and normal modes in mind, not just normal tv mode.

jeez it took me and most others about a week too adjust to the shooting,i dont think i no any1 who had an excuse other than, well il get use to it,and they did.stop looking for excuses and get some practice!!

rant over

I know everyone things its stupid but its true ive played pes since the very first title and never had any trouble getting into a game till now i have spent months trying to figure out why my shots go so high im not talking just over the bar more like over row z. but when my bro got his 360 xmas he said he had no trouble shooting online he would have about 10 shots mainly on target and i would have 30 odd shots sometimes only getting a couple on target he was in histericks he started calling me SAVO any villa fans will no what i mean.
Anyway i went to his the other night and played on his 360 and whipped his ass, i didnt have any trouble at all with my shots, i compared all his settings to mine the game control settings and his 360 settings they were all the same as mine the only difference was he was using a standard scart, and i was using the component lead the one with 5 connections, i came home had a game on my 360 and it was straight back to hitting the moon with my shots, so i dug out the scart lead that origanally came with the 360 and it was fine perfect shots,
I agree it does sound stupid, and i dont understand it either, but changing the leads has solved the problem. now i am finally enjoying the game again.
if anyone can explain this please post and let us know

I just tried your "change the xbox360 settings" trick, and I do not notice a difference at all. I think it's all in your head...the shot button is just sensitive no matter how you play it. In fact, I almost feel dumber for actually trying that.

Your idea is a good one, but I have found a better way to solve the shooting problem.

Load the game up and as soon as the PES6 logo comes up, touch the screen of your TV with your little finger of your right hand. Then start your match and while the teams come out of the dugout, tap your head three times, this is a vital part of the solution. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT miss this part out. Finally when the whistle for the kick off blows, squint your eyes for ten seconds and whisper Seabass with every pass you make. Doing this correctly will result in the shooting problem to be gone.

Have fun and good luck.

bollocks bollocks bollocks!!!

The way you shoot has nothing to do with the screen.

best way to shoot is to knock the ball out of your feet while running and hitting the shot at the right moment, the hard bit is making the space.

if you run onto it right you can hit the shot with full power and it will keep low and hit the target with great acuracy.

obviously the amount of bend you put on it matters etc but beleive me you can hit some rockets when you get it.

as most of the people say, practice makes perfect!!
