i noticed that winning eleven always have a option for u to set up a profile to use on the controllers. but does anybody really note what does it have to do? the best i can understand is i can input my name instead of the no. of the controller above my players head.

I hope Konami can set up a more statistic way of playing the game. Eg. is that maybe we can have set up a profile for ourself having autosave to record how many games have been played, no. of goals scored and conceded for ur own individual profiles( just like playing Burnout whereby u have ur mileage recorded down and how many wins u clocked ).
And maybe depending on the level of difficulty u played on and the cpu can also grade ur level of skills depending of ur ratio of winning ( eg. u always played on 1* diff and despite winning numerous games, u still won't be graded as world class).

Dont worry mate. Most of what you're saying is already included in We9/PES5 as part of the 'Memorial Match' feature.

As for the controller name, that really for multiplayer, where 2 or more ppl are on the same team. I always use that feature when palying 4 vs CPU cups. Makes knowing who has control is easier rather than callig P1..P2..P3 etc.

Cheers

You save your profile on your memory card. Your opponent does the same. You play a memorial match like you would a loaded ML team match. Afterwards the game stores the cumulative data from the endmatch stats screen to give you averages and who has won how many.

I don't think it works well. Possession and shots do not always tell you much about what happened in the match. I want to see pass completion % and stuff like that.
