PS2 Doesn't Read Disk!

When i turned on my PS2 yesterday and tried to play PES5, the PS2 kept on going to the Browser screen...i kept on restarting it all the time...but it still didn't work! I've got a slim line PS2, which i never turn sideways or upwards when it's on...it hasn't been modded and i've never played any pirate DVD's on it.

Does anyone have an idea what i can do to make it work again.

If the disk is fucked, then this will be the second time it's happened to me :(

Thanks a lot Zygalski but i can't do all that with my PS2...i might fuck it up!

Do you know any company that can fix my PS2 for me?

Sony should be able to send me another one!

You can send your PS2 to Stevie Baby ;)
It doesn't look that difficult if you read it properly and do everything properly.

Otherwise I guess you can ring Sony and they'll swap yours plus some money for a new one.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Or you could do what I did, and go down to Woolworths and buy a Laser Lens Cleaner. Works every time. It's a disc which you put in the console and has little brushes on the bottom, you watch the tutorial thingy, then leave it in for 30 seconds and it's done- the game that didn't work now works.

methical

as normal as norman bates
this is happening with my sims and vertua tennis but all my other games work
my ps1 games dont work either, i had a lens cleaner in all night and tested it and it still doesnt work, oddly enough the games that dont work have a black or navy blue disc and all my working games have a silver disc?

what can i do, the games worked at my mates house on his slim line ps2

Original?

Sims and Virtua Tennis are blue discs, which means they are CDs. CDs have to spin faster and the laser has to work harder to read them, and therefore if your laser is getting old, it will stop reading CDs before it does DVDs (Silver Discs).

Yours is a lesser case of Level 6's problem, and the same fixes will work.

Level 6, Sony's contact number should be at the back of any PS2 game manual.

Thanks Original?......but i've phoned that ps2repairs and i've told them about the problem i'm having with my PS2.

They said i should send it to them and when it arrives it'll take 3 days for them to contact me with the result they've got and what they are going to do to fix it. Thats the best option, so i'm sending it to them tomorrow.

Is it under warranty still?

Then why was there ever a problem? Don't try and get a fix if it's under warranty, get a new one. Just take it back to the shop you purchased it from rather than deal with Sony yourself.
