PS2 has problems reading PES4 game disk

when i put pro evo in i tmakes a grinding noise. it either comes on or it comes up saying there is no PS2 disk in the console. the game is not a copy, or scratched and the PS2 is about 3-4 years old

any ideas how to fix it??

If its 3 or 4 years olds your PS2 about ready to blow, their lasers are crap on them and go within 2 -3 years, and suprisingly my last evo didn't work on my old ps2 and sum of my more strached games did... buy a new laser or ps2 cus that grindin sound is fu**in up ur disks

Might be worth taking it back to where you got the game from and ask for another one.

cheers, infact, for some reason only PES4 crashes on my PS2 and no other games do

Use toothpaste and a cloth to clean it, seriously.

Give your PS2 a good hoovering, believe me it'll thank you for it, if it could talk. Dust is a bugger, mine started making funny noises after 3ish years, but given a tease with the old dyson and it works perfect. Sony timed all the lasers to fail after about 3-4 years so all you suckers would buy the 'new' smaller PS2, don't do it! Squeeze what life you can out of the old PS2, treat it like a grandparent, tidy up after it, give it a hoover now and again, wipe up the dribble, just don't replace it.

I have no problem with my other games, only with PES 4. My PS2 is standing upright and everytime with PES I get a disc read error. Now I layed my PS2 flat and have no problem with it. Very strange, isn't it.

[yep the same thing happened to me, it started with weird noises and it got harder and harder to load it up.
last week my playstation packed up completly!!! i havent been able to play pro evo for 9 days!! im getting cold sweats!!
im back to playing halo2 on my xbox, i dont want to get the xbox version cos of the controllers and the fact i have changed all the premiership kits and all the names on my playstaion memory card.

You may just need to replace the guide arm, I did mine last week and it works like new again now!

It's just really annoying that all my games work perfectly (even PES 3) but somehow PES 4 doesn't work. Sometimes I just want to throw my PS 2 out of the window but I don't know if that will be good.
