As there is barely any info on the online shenigans of the PS2 version, could someone clarify a few things for me.

Will there be some sort of leaderboard which automatically record results etc?

Will the PS2 version have the ability to host tournaments online?

Are konami hosting their own servers for PES5 on the PS2?

What ports do I need to open on my firewall?

Has anyone played online with the ps2, and did they experience lag etc?

As this decide whether I get the PC version or not if the PS2 functionality is not up to scratch?

From what I've heared.. Konami have apparantly learned from both the Xbox and Pc versions online and are gonna obviously improve both consoles but also the PS2 is ment to be top quality stuff with next to nothing on lag as same as the PC. I doubt very much you'd need to pay to play online, only your ISP bill :) however you will need to buy a Network Adapter.

Yeah i play socom online already so ive got a network adapter. I was wondering whether or not to bother buying PES5 as WE9 is a better game imo. But if the online is any good ill get it. Might use GAME's 10 day trial thing.

Yes, there is. There are promotion/relegation into different divisions based on a 'heads up' of the stats on a daily basis.

No, not on it's own

Same as PES4

No idea

Yes and basically, the host 'switches' at half time so if you create a match room then you host for the first half, the opponent hosts the second half. You get a tad bit of lag, but it's nowhere near as bad as pes4 on xbox
