PS3 Crash - Possible fix?

Like many PS3 users I was increasingly victim to the game crashing, mostly at the pre-match tunnel scene but worringly it started to happen at other points in the game - even at the start up (5 stars in the left hand corner of a black screen).
Recently the problem has stopped. Completely. I did two things recently. Downloaded the last patch and installed the game to my PS3 hard drive. I don't think it was the patch that fixed the problem but installing the game might have.

Any other PS3 users who have noticed this or would be prepared to try it? Feedback here for results either way.

I have the PS3 version of PES 2010, and I've never once had the game freezing during the pre match scene, over hundreds of games. I've read quite a few peoples posts saying that this can happen on the PS3, so I know it's happening. I very rarely bother with the pre match scene, I pretty much always skip straight to the match, that could be the reason it hasn't happened to me yet. I also installed the game on to my PS3, maybe thats a fix too. I also have the old original 60gb launch model PS3, it could be that it's not a problem on that model. Or maybe I've been just extremely lucky, but it hasn't happened to me after almost 400 games, so it must be one of the above reasons coz I reckon it would have happened to me by now
