is it possible to download option files from my ps3 browser and use them or do i have to use a pc an put it on a memory stick first?

it was rumoured to work but unfortunately you do have to put it onto a usb stick, when you download from your ps3 browser it doesnt download to your hard drive as an option file, and obviously you need to extract the files etc, so in short it doesnt work lol
