I also was not trying to be smart,

I was just pointing out a simple and obvious fact, which is that the D-PAD has clear limitations; by the way, I didn't get the sarcasm...

Anyways, you should try to adapt to the LEFT ANALOGUE, because from now on PES will be based on the left analogue; rather than seeing it as something negative, you should see it as a challenge, and as something positive due to all the potential that comes with it.

Do you really want to play PES6 for the next 3 years?

I'd like to see Konami copy FIFA by using the d-pad buttons to quickly implement tactics, allowing the L2/R2 to be used for other things.

I agree 100% that the Dpad is completely outdated and limits what you can do as a player.

Sure there is an uncomfortable and awkward feeling when you finally start using the stick but once you do get used to it, you will never even think of going back to the Dpad.

Used to always use the dpad until PES 2011 (although I was playing PES 2007 up until this year), but switched to the analog stick because the dpad feels very "stiff" and not responsive enough in PES 2011. Still getting used to it.

I find it difficult to defend with the analog stick - I tend to run out of position and can't turn quickly enough and the opposition fly past me. I've started using the dpad when defending and switch to analog stick when I get the ball. Not ideal but not as difficult as it sounds, and I'm defending much better.

Still accidentally run away from the ball when using the analog stick though.

Why did you bump this thread? Just to be on topic though I use the analog stick, and the only reason for that I must admit is because Amateur's rant here talked me into it.
