Question about GAME trade-ins

Hi chaps, I've ordered PES 5 from HMV at the reduced price of £14.99 though I believe this means there's a good chance I may not receive it until next week. So basically, what I'm wondering is if any of you lads have traded in any of the following games lately : (all PS2 by the way)

PES 4
GTA San Andreas
Mercenaries

If anyone has traded these in at GAME could you let me know how much you got for them? Or if anyone has an informed opinion as to how much I might receive for these games please let me know. Obviously my thinking here is that if i can get about 20 odd quid for these 3 games then I'll just get PES 5 on the day and cancel my HMV order. Either that or I may well put the games on ebay, because at a quick glance people seem to be willing to pay quite generous money for second hand games on there. People do really get obsessed with winning bids rather than actually getting a good price on there! Oh also, anyone know how much GAME will be selling PES 5 for in-store? I know games are usually 39.99 there, but sometimes I've seen new releases for 34.99. The website is selling it for 32.99 but the in-store price will differ.

Thanks a lot guys!

Haha nice one mate, but at the risk of sounding lazy GAME is literally 90 seconds from my house and I have no idea where my nearest Gamestation is. Thanks for your reply man

Ring them up, generally we don't give out prices over the phone, but for those games it shouldn't be a problem as there's only three and they're all big titles.

BTW why the fuck will gamestation not let you trade in an 18 game if your not 18, your giving it away what does it matter to them.

So does that mean GAME give you straight cash for games? I didn't think they'd done that since the days of electronics boutique!

@ Original - I'm guessing you work in GAME...is there a limit to the amount of games people can trade in? I'd personally be a bit embarrassed dumping a bagload of games on your desk and wanting to trade them in but I guess that's just me!

Thanks for your posts guys, I'll just pop in there tomorrow and ask them in-store.

does anyone know what the point is of a game card? at mine they told me you cant use your points when your actually buying a game, you have to like swap points for vouchers and then use the vouchers when you buy the item.

i cant believe that way of doing it

You cannot deal with a minor on any age restricted product, be it buying or selling.

There is no limit to the number of trade-ins you can make, though if you take in seventy-two games, get them scanned and then decide to leave it, you will not be popular.

Game cards, for every pound you spendyou get ten points, for every 1000 points you earn, you can get £2.50 taken off your purchase. Therefore 2000 = £5.00, 3000 = £7.50 and so on and so forth. It also means that you can make returns even if you lose your receipt, as the date of transactions is recorded on the database. You might also get to take part in special promotions on release dates, and sometimes there's a reward card sale where you get money off solely for having a card.

I used to work there.
