Question about OFs and DLC/updates

I understand that if you haven't downloaded the updates/DLC, some of the newer OFs won't work and you'll be prompted to download the update when you try to load the OF. Is there a way of getting around this?

Also, do you get the same message the other way around? Meaning, if you create an OF without having downloaded any of the DLC, does that mean that OF won't be usable by those who have downloaded either of the DLC updates?

I hope I'm not missing a thread where this was already answered, and that my questions come across relatively clearly. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I think it does yeah, im going to buy a memory card then send it off to get an option file put on and the guy asked ''do you have the newest update''

Probally meaning that he had downloaded and editied the newest update.

So yes you would have to.

I think for any OF to work - you need to have the same updates as the person who made the OF.

I purchased a pre loaded OF and it worked perfectly for me because when i first loaded it up I was originally running the 1.02v (same as the OF creator) I then downloaded Konami patch 1.03v plus latest DLC, but when I took it around to my mates place and tried to load it up it all went to pooh if you know what i mean... after spending sometime trying to figure out why it didn't work i realised that he had already downloaded 1.03v and therefore the OF would not work at all =(

Hope that makes sense
