Question about the method to unlock secret players

Has there been any info released on how secret players will be unlocked this year?

It really annoyed me that in PES 2008 they changed the method, in that you'd have to win leagues like the Irish league to unlock a lot of the players. It was just a cheap way to try to drag out some replay value. I much preferred the method in PES 6, where you gained points by winning matches and then you could buy the players from the PES shop.

So yea, has any info been released on this?

I hope it is the NG-Way. It makes us play PES, instead of doing only exhibition modes. Winning the WC with six nt's made me play.

Irish league????

I'm not talking about the teams, I'm talking about the individual players. To unlock certain individual groups players you had to win various leagues, such as the Irish league, German league etc etc etc.

And when unlocking the teams I just put it on 1 star, 5 minute game, scored 1 goal then passed it around for the rest of the game :erm: There's no replay value in that for me.

i must admit. I sway more to the PES 6 way of things. I loved going threw the players and picking who i wanted to Unlock. Also, in the World Cup Campaigne, im PRAYING you can choose your squad. I would unlock all the hidden irish people, then bring them into the World cup Qualifiers and take them to world cup etc .... wishfull thinking tbh :(

i also would like to be able to buy players using PES points, as there are just some cups i cant win, for example the WEFA (UEFA Cup) is impossible to win as im always the the champions league cup and i dont really want to loose on purpose to enter the WEFA Cup. mess ups the old stats!

I prefer the PES6 way, then you can choose who you would like to unlock, not going through all the trouble of winning a certain cup/league just to see you unlock the 5 worst players in footballing history

I often played CL but one time lost so bad I was glad to be thrown in de Uefa Cup (and win that one for a change)

yeah the UEFA Cup is the only cup I never get to win, the only way for me to qualify for the thing is to throw matches, and I refuse to do that.

I much preferred the Pro 6 way, without a doubt. On 08 I didn't unlock many of the players at all. Would be a cool idea to unlock them by completing the small scenario challenges that were on ISS, they were always a bit of fun to complete?

Well, for people that have never played PES -the- "secret players" might sound cool.. But honestly, the Secret Players do Not Look like their real-life selves, they don't have accurate stats, and most of them don't even have their real Names.

If the Edit Mode in PES09 is back to the way it was in PES5, where you had some 300+ REAL Faces to choose from -then- you might be better of doing "secret players" yourself. Just look for the proper Face and then tweak with the Stats.

It is much better to them yourself -instead- of "Unlocking" them. But it all depends on How Good the PES09 Editing Mode actually will be.

By the way, I must say that IF the Classic Players actually Looked like themselves -then- I would have no problem "Unlocking" them. But what's the Point of going through all that trouble just to Unlock a Diego Armando Maradona that doesn't even Looks like himself.. Complete waste of Time in my opinion.

I think Classic Players with proper Faces would give more Value to the "PES Shop".

Doing a world cup six times was taking the piss to be honest, they should go back to the old method (PES Shop) i wouldnt mind if u had to achieve a cup to get a unlock but doing it six times is fucking ridiculous.

I dont know if its been talked about already (sorry in advance, dont jump all over me for it) but what about the training they had in WE8 (american) which if im right would have been pes4....anyways the training challenges were cool where you had to play a cross thru a bulls eye hovering above the field and what not, that kind gave training a purpose and helped you practice specific things for points which was really cool
