Questions about Difficulty Level

What do you play on?

Has anyone spent significant time with regular? Do they play more true to their ratings?

Historically, I have been a Professional player the last five years or so, but this year it is giving me fits. Superstar is as well. I am seeing balls bounce in strange directions to go in from distance. My theory, is that regular will play more true to the ratings.

I am just trying to wrap my mind about what the levels actually do. Do they make the other players superhuman, and make your players buffoons? Sure seems that way this year.

"Do they make the other players superhuman, and make your players buffoons?" Playing ml in parallel on both regular and pro. The answer to the question is yes. On regular players are about equal on pro worse players beat or match better players.

^ So are you saying that "regular" is more like real life? I don't like playing on regular because I feel like I'm always gonna win and makes it boring, however when I play on pro, It's hard for me to win and at the same time I get frustrated. So I wanna play in a level that reflects the true abilities of the players. I haven't try superstar yet but I'm sure it's really, really, hard. What do you guys recommend?

If you play a team of equal skill then players look/feel about the same abilities on both sides on regular. On professional cpu players are stronger and faster then human players. It is pretty obvious if you compare both levels. If you play a strong team against a weak or average team on professional it may even out too. I also noticed top player is pretty close to professional, except that cpu is less forgiving in attack, but gives about the same pressure level and disadvantage of your players as on pro. Regular is more realistic imo, but you may find it too easy with barcelona.

I'm playing it on superstar and I can tell you, it's being rather frustrating. I'm a good PES player and have been playing ever since Winning Eleven 4! And I can tell you, superstar is INSANE.

I never played against a human being, but by playing against the CPU it feels like it's almost impossible to rob the ball without committing a foul.

This time around marking with the "square" button (X for 360 controller) is kinda useless, he will either just cruise around the player senselessly or tackle in a stupid fouly way! I end up having to do some magic with R2 and pressing and releasing square to cover holes in my defense and just wait for a mistake by the CPU!

Attacking in PES 2012 is rly nice, but defending is killing me!!! Any advice? Cause I'm sick of average Serie A players dribbling me all the way to my goal.

I play on Superstar its the most realistic and it feels the CPU doesn't cheat much on it.
Also its not hard to win but you need to concentrate hard the whole match, a few slip ups and you can lose and its completely your fault for that which is nice.

I always play with Valencia CF, I'm gonna play on regular, hopefully Barca or Madrid are not too easy. I played on PRO and I couldn't beat Osasuna but when I played with Milan, in the demo, I kept beating Napoli everytime.
