I have/had the same problems for 4 of my players in my recent seasons:

1. Sazi (original WE United player, but reborn), CF/SS, age 21, had him for about 10 months, but his rating always go down ever since I signed him. went from 84 to 79. So I decided to sell him, and amazingly got 15M out of that. I also keep track of him via scout report, just to see how he gets on with his rating, he is now on 71 OR, age 23. and has just been transferred list again by his new club! Sad :( I will keep tracking him just to see how he will end up. He is a strange one because some people have him good (i.e. OR 90), so I am just curious.

2. A youth RB, starting with OR 71, and growth extremely fast to 79 in one season, but then his rating decided to nose dive, and went from 79 to 71 in his second season with me 0_0. I decided to keep him on for another season just to see what happen, now I am in March, he is away on loan, but his rating has dropped to 69(age 21) :(, I will be selling or releasing him in the close season, to make way for new player, as his has decrease so badly that I think it is worth it even if he turn around next season.

3. Sibon, CF, 1.97M and extremely good dribble/technique, age 24, I initially though he could be my next "Big/Strong/Skillful" striker after Schwarz. But no, his rating has been dropping all the time. And went from 84 to 80 in one season ( take acount that I taught him a skill card to slow down the drop in rating). I will give him another season and see whether he can sort himself out.

4. A youth CB, starting with OR 71(age 19), grown very fast to 86 (age 21) in two seasons, and then started to drop. Because he was so promising so I decide try my best to stick by him. So for three years I keep giving him skill cards and play him whenever I can. Anyway, he kept dropping, initally very fast for two years, and the dropping rate slow down a bit for third year (still dropping, but he won't drop if I play him, and he will get a tiny litte bit of exp when on international games). As I said, I try my best to stick by him and put him through skill cards training, his rating actually stay intact despite horrible state drop (i.e. header went from 75 to 67), I think one defensive skill card give about 3 points of overall rating to defenders. The TURNING POINT came this season, he just decided to grow by 9/10 of a full gauge again! :) and is now at OR 90 (age 24) ! This is just make all the patience worthwile! :D

So out of 4 young players, I have actually manage to wait it out for one of them. I will wait and see what happen to Sibon, will get back if you are interested. In previous PES version, there are players have the some what rare "double peak" growth curve, just as my youth CB went through. and some player will have the "early peak". But it seams that "early peak" is much more common in this versions. Some people say it is a glitch, but I actually like it in a strange way, because now you may have transfer flop, and can no longer turn every one you sign into super star. and sometime if you be patient, stick by your young players and you may actually reap the benefit! much realistic from my ponit of view :)

about SAZI. i also buy him. now his age 32 with 95 rating.
i buy him when his age 17. really best striker in my club, a very powerful shot with his right leg. almost 7 european best player.
about BAROS. when season 2029-2030 yesterday, i saw his point increasing, at 22-23 years old.

ur team just have a problem like me. mby u can keep them around 2-3 years. if not improve, just sell them

hum... interesting...

So that confirmed my guess that this "rating reduce" thing is random, i.e. a player may have it in one ML game, but the same player will be fine in another.

It is a shame though because SAZI was such a promising player in my game, but now there is NO WAY he can be fulfil his potential :( I will see how bad he get just for the heck of it

owh...mby its random or mby the creator save the potential of SAZI will be late bloomer, who know ya. but u can try to check his potential at EDIT PLAYER. and see what his potential. mby a late bloomer or rise in 2-3 year ,after that going down again(the stat)

I have CF and a CM having the same problem
Everton - 19yrs - 80 -->84-->82
Thought Everton was going to be the next big player. Came through my youth system.
Veron - 25yrs - 93 -->98-->94 (he flickrs between 94 and 95 now, if I leave him out of 1 game, he goes down to 94. Play him in the next, he raises to 95).

A bit of update on SAZI, as I said I keep monitoring him since selling him.

His rating is now 68 at age 24, going down from 84 at age 21 when I signed him....SAD :( I will keep tracking.

Same thing has happened to me.

I'm in my 6th season and I've finally got a bit of money to spend so I splashed out £3.5m on this 22-year-old Japanase striker (Takensi or something?). He had a rating of 79 so I thought he'd develop well.... I was wrong!

He's 23 now and his rating has already dropped to 76 :(

It's almost stopped decreasing though so I'm hoping it'll maybe start rising soon. I hope so anyway, as £3.5m is a lot of money for my little team! We've only got an overall salary of £5.5m and a big chunk of that goes on Takensi who earns about double anyone else!!!

This really pisses me off, I bought about 5 young players and they are all decreasing! Even though the scout says they have a bright future or they develop at a steady pace. Is anything I can do about it?

Some players have a 2 curved development curve.. So they improve, go through a few seasons where they decrease in rating then go up again! Might not be the case but it's hope!!!! It also happens to Lennon

I really hope you're right matt! My striker Takansi is now at a rating of 74. He was 79 when I signed him less than a season ago :crymore:

He's only 23 so I'm hoping this is just a poor season for him and he'll start to improve next season. I hope so anyway cos I sold 2 of my strikers to afford to pay for him!!!

My Lennon Overall 80 at 22, he started to go down to 78 so i loaned him to A.Madrid and at his worst he was 73! So i loaned Walcott to replace the pace he brings to the team! he's athleticos problem now :p He's starting to go back up and should be fine when he returns :p:laugh:

I like your thinking ;)

If he carries on decreasing this season I might loan him out to, or maybe just sell him on and try and get some cash back.

I actually think it's quite a good feature of this year's Masters League. It makes signing a player a bigger gamble than before.

make sure before you buy, you check your scout's analysis. if he's an early peak then probably his stats will start decreasing at the age of 22-24 imo

About Sibon, he's 36 years old in reallife playing for SC Heerenveen (Dutch Eredivisie) last couple of years, he will be playing for some
Australian club next season.

But anyway, i have a CB from Chili called Ponce, he was around 80 overall when i bought him 2 seasons ago. He's now 21 years old and his overall is reducing rapidly. In the last 5-6 months on the game he dropped to a 76 overall. But the strange thing is he is 28 years old in reallife, while im only in my fourth season in ML and he's not a reborn/youth team player either. So i guess if he started out at 28 it would be normal for him to be dropping his skills after a couple of seasons. Also, his value seems to go up somehow, while it should be going down. Anyway, i put him on the transferlist and sold him to Juventus for like 22.000.000.

So here's what i think:

Some players start out younger then they are in reallife, forcing them to have a terrible growth curve for their age. Their value is going up, because they should actually get better if they are starting out at 21 (taking Ponce as an example).

I hope you get what i mean.

Replies would be nice :D

How do you know if he's going to be an early peak or not? My scout doesn't mention anything about his development rate?

Is it the graph that shows you how he'll develop?
