C+? thats pretty much how I would rate it, what would you give it an A? lol.

And no fifa doesn't deserve anything near an A either.

DIECI, a few days ago I would have given this years PES a 9 or something. But the more I play it, the more I'm becoming a little disillusioned. Pressing is nigh on impossible, you are forced to retreat all the time. I love almost everything about PES2012, but the lack of midfield battle and constant directness of the CPU top teams is starting to ruin the whole game for me.

Professional is too easy for me to keep possession, so that is out of the window.

I have to play on Top Player to get anything out of it. But TP simply cheats a lot of the time it's as simple as that.

To compound the fact that you have lightening reaction strikers and cheat AI, you have rubbish defenders and suspect keepers. These mix of elements is bringing the game down from a classic, to something that is wearing me down a little. It may be the fact that I have played this non stop since I've had it, I really believe that by releasing a patch which beefs up the defensive side this will be the best footy game ever.

Without the patch and with the game in its current state you have a CPU that charges at you like the red army with stunning precision and reflexes. Against the top teams you then HAVE to enter into an attack and counter attack game which is endless. No, personally I don't even think that editing tactics etc will do any good; the reason why the CPU attacks so directly and Yoda like is the cards they are given. I'm going to experiment tonight v Man Utd and take everyone's cards off them, I'll report back my findings. Someone like Nani for example is pre-programmed with about a thousand cards to basically attack like a Terminator, I think I even seen a 'You'll self destruct if you pass the ball' card in there.

Would you say the game differs much from the second demo in your opinion?
And, sent you a PM. :)

I have played the demo and feel that this is a bit over the top - same site gave FIFA 12 an "A"

Site is normally pretty good but they slate the game here - bit harsh in my opinion.

For some reason fans of each football game are often highly partisan.

If someone has gotten very used to a certain format be it PES or FIFA, then they are likely to find the other very alien and want to do nothing but bitch about it. From half of the PES reviews that I have read, it is obvious that the reviewers have barely played the game. This can be easily told by how often they provide incomplete and/or innaccurate info about the game.

To my mind, although FIFA is a great game, for anyone to say that it offers a better game of football than Pro Evo (online functionality notwithstanding) makes me think that such a person must be retarded. Hence, if I were to review PES and FIFA, then I would paint a very jaundiced picture of the two games, strongly favouring Pro Evo.

The fact is that Konami dropped the ball big style with PES 2008, and barely managed to pick it up again with PES 2009. Since then, the majority of people have converted to FIFA as their main football game and Konami would have to produce something several times as good as EA do, in order to start converting people back in thier droves.

Had PES 2008 never happened, and PES 2009 was the game which head to head with FIFA 08 (which was a bit fucking crap itself), then the mass exodus and shift in critical acclaim would never have happened and Konami wouldn't be facing the stone wall it is today.

They certainly dropped the ball with PES 2008, I have no idea what they were thinking when they made that game. I'm sure if they made PES 6 again but with upgraded graphics and some new features, then most people would have been happy.

Why they competely overhauled a great game I will never know, if its not broke, don't fix it.

one thing in that review that stands out to me and I agree - the awkwardness of holding down R3 (PS3) for off the ball control. I have never like games where R3 has to be held down and used to control simultaneously. I seem to pull off the R3 when I move the stick.

I've played Fifa12 the last few days, and I have to say that it's enjoyable but not in the long run. PES12 is pretty much as the reviewer put it, promising but full of annoying quirks.

None of the games deserve more than a C or a B- if you're in a good mood. They are equally great and equally craptastic at the same time. But I can sense so much more potential in PES, and PES2012 with a brand new community made OF, kitserver and Jenkey1002 modified AI, it will be great. Fifa will stay more or less the same, a mediocre game.

I think it's best to ignore reviews for the two football titles, well, from big review firms anyway.
I'm not being a fanboy in anyway, I do enjoy FIFA, but it's obvious EA pay to get the scores they do.
Just look at the EA forum to see people day in day out, pointing out bugs that make you wonder how they weren't spotted by testers.

Every year FIFA seems to be deemed 'perfection' by some. No game is perfect and FIFA, with all its bugs and stupid aspects, is far from perfect.

Thats exactly how it is imo and how I would put it.

The game has HUGE potential, but sadly the developers for some reason rushed it/did not really took enough time to properly analyze it etc... and it has a lot of issues.

No doubt after the OF/kitserver/jenkey patches the game will be quite polished and very enjoyable.

pes 2012 is great but not for 2012. if the game was made in say 2009, it'd be the best simply. but in 2012 no as the keepers need work, animations need to be revamped and less stuterriness as well as more facial emotions to keep it real. pes 2012 is too behind it's time. that is why fifa 09 is the best game for fifa not fifa 11 as fifa 09 was great for 2009 but fifa 11 hasn't improved enough to be good
