Hello all..
In all previous versions of PES refrees were inconsistent for giving cards... They were too harsh.. but in Pes2010.. they are very inconsistent in giving fouls as well..!!! They overlook a lot of fouls.. I didnt even get a penalty yet.. They tackle me so hard in penalty area without touching the ball and refree always say "go on" .. That sux.. I know it is not hard for Konami to revise it with a patch... but they have to do it as soon as possible.. It really ruins gaming experience and realism in many cases.. Who does agree with me??

This bothers me to. Konami spend so much time on the graphics they didn't had time left for all the others things, at least i hope so because otherwise they let us all down.

I would have to agree on penalties, I have at least 3 cases where it was an obvious penalty, but the ref didn’t call it.

Even though, I still believe the game is really awesome and i am enjoying it, especially the lag free online games.

Me too. I always had a nervous breakdown like Fergie in the weekend when all the fouls on me were not given. I got frustrated, got a player of mine sent off(straight red) with a sliding challenge...Pathetic!

I tend to agree on this matter. The referee do call out for less fouls than in '09.

After almost a full season of BAL, a half season of ML and one Champions League cup, I have recieved a total of 3 yellow cards and 0 red cards! That's 50-60 matches atleast. And not a single penalty either.

This is something i think they should fix with a patch. Cant be to hard. Just go with the decissions they made in PES 09. It wasent great, and I hoped for better refs in PES 10. But go back to the way it was in 09. Way better!
If they dont make a patch to fix this I think it can ruin the game. Every time it happens i get more and more angry!

I'm happy to see people thinking as I do... referee issue is really a major stuff that has to be solved.. Especially I get so angry when I get fouled referee says "no" and CPU launchs a counter-attack with that lost ball.

that happen to me very often im always tackle hard from behind...referee dont give fault,my player is always injury...computer does a counter...i take the ball fairly he sent off my players...

Its even a bigger problem when you play 1vs1 or 2vs2 offline or online. When you can tackle a player when he is free with the keeper and get away with it almost everytime. Really ruins a good game! Hope Konami realise that they has to release a patch that fix this! Really soon... Anyone heard if Konami will do?

Cant understand how things like this not being fixed untill release. Dont Konami testplay the game. It doesent take more then five matches at most to see this problem!

This is my only major gripe about PES 2010, i think its a brilliant game but the refs are absolutely terrible. I wouldve been happier had they used the same ref AI from 09 because i think that was spot on. In this game you can tackle from behind, take none of the ball and not even have a free kick against you.

I have been chopped in the box so many times after ive skinned the last defender and every time the ref has played on. I have had ONE penalty in three seasons in master league and 50 odd games online, and ironically it wasnt even a penalty on the replay, the defender got the ball.

its proper bad with the refereeing on the last man crunching foul.

happens so much, im sure its because the game is counting the player as 'off the ball' and as we know from previous PES u can slide tackle players 'off the ball' i.e as they have released it, or before they recieve it and not concede a free kick.

proper bad situation really.

I get fustrated to with the refeeres bad decisions, but that is what happens in real life. Refeeres in real life miss pens and give pens and it happens in the game to, as much as it is fustrating it adds to me trying even harder to get that breakthrough.

Hopefuly in the next game they will make it better, but i still wanna see some contentious decisions or it would be predictable and not as enjoyable.

One word on pens, great new system its miles better, the only down side is the bad camera angle. if the camera was still behind the player it would have been perfect. Come on konami listen and get the changes made for next year.

Any news as to when the master the muff will be making his ps3 von option file for the new game?

I dont understand how its not pointed out by any testers before game-publishing, how can they release it with such a bug?.. I really want Pes09 referees.. I'll start a 30-min master league (Premier league w/ patch) season but this is the thing that stops me to do it for now. It has to be SOLVED!!!!!

its a game not real life. given how ofside gets called when you are literally millimetres offside, or how a goal is given even though all of the ball did NOT cross the line is stupid.

same with free kicks and penalties. maybe 1 in 10 should go unpunished.. but not every single one man!

I don't think the referees are great in this game for a few reasons but yet there are some tweaks to the referees that are a major improvement over old versions. Firstly, the inconsistency and the errors refs make in the game is what I enjoy the most. Sure, when I need to score and the ref doesn't give me a blatant free-kick I curse and swear at the telly but pretty much in almost every premiership game this happens. It adds another depth to the game that I very much enjoy. These refereeing errors happen every week in the premiership and it highlights officials who haven't played the game to the highest level (sorry but its the only worthy bit of commentary on PES).

On the other hand, I must agree with other posters that there are few too little cards and penalties handed out in the game. Although, i've never been a big fouler myself so perhaps that could be a reason for it.

To the above poster- offside looks like to have changed too. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but I scored a goal and the player I passed to was a good couple of yards off. It was why it was so noticeable to me and my brother that we looked back on the reply and saw our man standing well behind the defence. If this isn't just some glitch and they have included in lino errors too then kudos to konami because I've always felt the next step in terms of getting this game to feel even more realistic was to include officiating errors. Its all now about finding a right balance between getting the majority of decisions right to a few refereeing errors because a tweak too far to the extreme could spoil the game. For me, this is just about right.

This is definitely one of my biggest gripes with the game. It's even worse cos the AI knows exactly when it will get away with it, so whenever you are through on goal you can guarantee you'll be taken out or there will at least be an attempt.

I've been so astonished that I've even saved a few replays as they were that bad. Most recently I received the ball from a low cross in the box as Mexes, and as I went to clear it Keane went right through the back of me completely missing the ball for Palacios to tap in the stationary ball from 6 yards!

Really hope this gets fixed in a patch, the balance of physical play was one of the things I loved about PES and hated about Fifa.

Definetely agreed...
If only a %10-15 of decissions are not right it can be bearable but %80-90 is unfair and unforutnately it is in that level of ratios for Pes2010...
It really ruins an almost-perfect soccer simulation :(

I like the refs. I think they are bad on purpose cos in some cases its just blatently a foul and the other guy has not even tried to get the ball. The badness of the ref causes passion in my games. When i was in a 1 on 1 against Barca in the 90th min and was going to score a winner i was taken out which caused me to leap off my bed shouting and hitting my bed in disbelief at how i didnt get anything. It gets you more involved in the game and tbh it works both ways. You can foul and so can your opponent.

Agree with everything thats been said, been hacked countless times without a foul in pes 2010. Never had a pen. Also does anyone know if they've taken out the 'advantage' rule this year? Hasn't happened to me yet in this version.
